Re: What did you do today.

And I finished painting some things. Now, bear in mind that I am not 100% up on AoS terminology, but here are my Introducers. http://i.imgur.com/X1vQzt9l.jpg And some Tabulators. http://i.imgur.com/WeYovV1l.jpg I'm not sure what I am going to use these for as the obvious choice isn't one I'm interes...

Re: What did you do today.

Fair enough. Marines riding wolves into battle was not one of GW's better ideas, so I can understand not wanting to use them. Personally I'd rather build and paint the army I like rather than what the rules favour, and relative power level of the codex be damned. (Though I do tend to have multiple f...

Re: What did you do today.

You've got to wonder why designers put mould lines in places that are really tough to clean up without damaging the mini.

Re: Let's have a GW rumors and sneak peeks thread!

The thing about WFB was that it wasn't really a mass battle game. It was a skirmish game with overly strict movement rules. Each model attacked individually and was removed individually. An army consisted of about 100 guys (outside of Skaven or Goblins) and the abilities of a single model in combat ...

Re: What did you do today.

@Jye - Why did you buy/paint Space Wolves if you want White Scars?

Re: Let's have a GW rumors and sneak peeks thread!

"In two or three years, Forge World will support WHFB stuff" doesn't exactly fill my with the hype feels. Partly because how FW supports HH sporadically and somewhat randomly, partly because getting a 40-strong unit of empire halberdiers on square bases in resin from FW will be stupid expensive, bu...

Re: What did you do today.

@Jye - That's no ordinary chainsword, that is the legendary blade 'Wyrmsbane,' forged by Leman Russ during the Great Crusade. Passed down from champion to champion over the millenia it is said that the wielder fights with the fury of the Primarch himself. In game terms it functions as a power sword ...

Maybe you need a soapbox bigger than 6mm? :)
There'd be nowhere to put it, you see.
Maybe if you cleared out some of your 28mm platoon-scale forces you'd have more space? :D

Re: Terrain Size vs. Model Size

While I agree that the terrain in games has some issues, I don't believe it's scale related. Wargaming terrain has always suffered from compressed scale. If the measurements are to be believed, every building in the 40K universe is no more than 10m wide and 2 storeys high (with a flat roof). Yes, mi...
