Re: 9th edition is on the way!

Yeah, exactly - I think this is primarily a Marine nerf, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Re: 9th edition is on the way!

I like how it opens up design space for dedicated "artillery shepherd" characters for armies where that's appropriate, who do just hand around vehicles and give them buffs - although I also wouldn't be surprised if that space never really gets explored.

Re: 9th edition is on the way!

Well, this is huge - possibly as huge as anything in the 9e core rules was: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/09/16/core-units-and-characters/ TLDR - there's a new "Core" keyword for certain units, and many character aura abilities (the examples were the SM captain and Lt auras) ONLY affect C...

Re: What did you do today.

No worries, I've still got dozens and the only thing I imagine I'd need them for now is expanding either Advanced Space Crusade or Blackstone, both of which are pretty full up.

Re: What did you do today.

Yeah, black and yellow is not very forgiving, sorry.  Still, as long as it's all got paint on! My package from my sister arrived yesterday, so now I own Blitz Bowl and can paint up some humans, orcs, and undead for that. Half-sized teams of 6 or 7 models is just my bag too. Also I'm stri...

Hmm, well it looks like I didn't take into account the combination of "4-day weekend" and "state of emergency has ended" - looks like I'll be bowing out again for fambly reasons this month! See you all in October!

Re: Let's have a GW rumors and sneak peeks thread!

A big old preview for 40K yesterday, focusing on Marines and Necrons as they're the first codexes for 9th. We've got a new kind of Destroyer, wraith-ish with teleportation tech: https://i.imgur.com/M9Hxgkul.png Long-overdue plastic flayed ones: https://i.imgur.com/SLHxc6hl.png A couple new kinds of ...

Re: Plamojuku Events Thread

It was good fun, and I did at least get a lot of experience against orcs. Fortunately, I think my basic take is that while they're definitely strong, they're not overwhelming - they can definitely be nickel-and-dimed down. I think I may have to put Ur-Grub Nurgle on the back burner, though. Ye...

Re: What did you do today.

@Jye: Ooh, I like that color scheme! Can you get Blitz Bowl anywhere other than ordering it direct from B&N? Aside from eBay, no - and B&N isn't even shipping internationally these days. (Hence having my sister send it to me.) It's a shame, since you hear really good things about the game. I may be...

Re: What did you do today.

Yeah, those guys were what gave me confidence to just slap the Iyanden Yellow on - though maybe I just slapped too much? I also used Wraithbone, did you use Greyseer or something else? Grey Seer but with a heavy enough white drybrush as part of the preshading that it's essentially white, and yeah, ...
