Re: It is a sad, sad day.

Here is the episode I was thinking of, for "the inside scoop on Kings of War". You can listen from this link.

Sounds like a thoroughly nice bloke!

Re: It is a sad, sad day.

Don't want to go too off topic, but yeah, I think Alessio said something about the Kings of war (?) game rules on a recent podcast, perhaps it was baddice. I could be making this up, but if memory serves he mentioned a very simple ruleset for KoW (just a handful of pages, and I think free with some ...

Re: It is a sad, sad day.

Priestley seems to have lots of other historical irons in the fire by the looks of it with warlord games, just search his name on that site and you'll find ample testament to the depth of his involvement. He wrote the Black Powder ruleset and that's gotten good feedback and is currently being retool...

Re: Call of Cthulhu starts soon

I wasn't aware of Harwood Hobbies, they look like they deserve to be kept an eye on. I felt inspired to share what I'd learned about Cthulhu minis, if interested, check it out... Pulp/Cthulhu Minis I've actually just splashed out on about 60+ Cthulhu related minis, from investigators, to cultists, g...

Re: Call of Cthulhu starts soon

Quickstart Cthulhu rules are here! http://www.chaosium.com/forms/coc_quick_start_color.pdf The rules basically haven't changed since the first edition in any major way, and are very simple - If you have played Runequest, you'll notice the similarities, since Cthulhu is basically a stripped down vers...

Re: Call of Cthulhu starts soon

I can see how skype would work well for bloodbowl, what a good idea. Another friend of mine used to play the Dominion card game with his brother via Skype, also works fine given the nature of the game. "What games can be played easily over skype" is probably worthy of a new thread at some point. I w...

Re: Call of Cthulhu starts soon

Ash and I tested the idea of roleplaying online a little using a combination of Skype and messenger at the same time. There was definite potential there, but some hitches. Scheduling was a problem, as he can't always get web access. But scheduling is a problem face to face too, obviously. Dice rolli...

Re: Call of Cthulhu starts soon

Ah, my favourite game. Wish I could join in as player. I should be running a regular session from next week in Fukui so I'll get my fix from behind the keepers screen at least. Let me know if you need any material or tips, but I reckon you have a good handle on stuff now. What are you running? Cthul...

Re: Brettonians in 8th

Brets are pretty much all I have played in 7th, so here are my thoughts..basically I am sad to say I don't think they are going to be very competitive in 8th unless the errata overhauls things. Winning is not always an issue, but come on, you want to have a chance, right? I am most likely shelving m...

Re: Base size for Warboss on warbike?

Here's a pic of the monstrosity to get an idea of size. Hopefully its not too extreme. Slapped a quick paint job on it on Sunday. Yeah, I know it doesn't look like a bike! You do what you can with the bits you have. Mods, its a small file, but feel free to delete it once its served its purpose as I ...
