Re: December 17th at E-Able Nagoya (Higashi Betsuin)

...many thanks to Spevna, Lovejoy and particularly to Asrayel for his encyclopedic knowledge of the 40k rules. Not quite so grateful for his 'orrible great flying monstrosity murderating my poor helpless Terminators in one shot, but when the dice gods speaketh, us mere mortals can do naught but hee...

Re: Necromunda 2017

I’m quite intrigued...I missed out on the game first time around (I had gotten out of gaming at the time). I’m keeping an eye on it, and if there were a few adopters I probably would pick up something for it. The box is shiny, and the new models seem to very cleverly put together in terms of options...

Re: Bolthammer 40Action

It would be worth at least looking at modding Gates of Antares. Same DNA as Bolt Action, and it’s already Sci-Fi.

Re: GW seeks customer input. No, really.

Noticed this on the website yesterday and gave them a few helpful pointers. Broadly speaking these covered finecast, overseas pricing and the destruction of a setting I rather liked in favour of one I don’t like. The words “appalling”, “gouging” and “risible” featured I think. I did applaud the qual...

Re: Black Friday 2017

Just to revisit that deepcut discount, it’s 10% off all mats using code BLACKFRIDAY and also up to 50% off individual mats (see site for details.) I’m toying with getting a cheap mat, but I’d prefer to join someone else’s order if possible. Anybody wanting to lead on this one? Normally I would prob...

Re: Black Friday 2017

Thanks for the 4ground heads up Prim, Xmas is coming so I’m adding The Stoic Arms to my collection!
May well be in the market for a group Deepcut purchase too.

Re: Shadespire

The skellingtons look really great and do tempt somewhat. If only they were in the core set. But I really dislike most of the other factions so far. Reimagined AoS Orcs and Dwarfs are the foulest contenders here. Chaos and Skaven probably aren’t as objectionable. But I won’t pick up a starter with S...

Re: A new edition is coming... New 40K discussion thread!

Spev and I finally had a bash at 8th edition on Sunday last. It gets a big thumbs up from us, since it played faster than any other incarnation we can remember, whilst losing none of its 40kness. We even squeezed two games in- unthinkable given the amount of chinwagging. The changes to how WS and BS...

Re: A new edition is coming... Saga?!? discussion thread.

There were references to Joan of Arc, Achilles and Beowulf, along with medieval images, some kind of hairy fantasy beast, and samurai. Quite a lot to ponder there, I'd like to see what happens.
Not that I have played V1 yet despite owning it.

Re: What did you do today.

I've been very busy as per, and sadly clean forgot about the Bolt Action event. Apologies to Prim and co. It seemslike the numbers were there anyway, but a shame to miss it. Hopefully there'll be another time. In my one day off after a 7 day stretch of work (school festival) I sorted out the warhamm...
