@Konrad - cool stuff!

Tonight I primed up the next batch of models for my plague marines (a bunch more poxwalkers to get me up to "holy smokes that's a whole lot of poxwalkers", plus a new friend for my plaguecaster), and struggled with assembly on some nurgle daemons. Man, the plaguebearers and plague drones (plaguebearers especially) have not aged well on the model design front. Big old gaps and seams, weird tiny contact points for alternate weapons, ball and socket joints with total freedom of movement (but you're still restricted to basically one pose per model by the shape of the limbs so all it does is make gluing a PITA) and they're only like 6 or 7 years old. Bring me more monopose easy-build models, I say!

You daughter is seriously talented, @Konrad!

Sort of aelves for Underworlds this weekend*. I've been going hard on Stormcast for some time and the new teams won't be out for another two weeks minimum so it was finally time to hit the backlog.

*Probably. Plamojuku gaming is still about the safest thing I've got socialisation wise and I haven't been leaving home for anything *except* gaming for a while now so I should be low risk to others. That's a lot of Nurgle we've got out there though.

Ooh, looking good! (Anime hair on those guys is just such a good fit.)

Edit: I also bashed out this guy today, the first of some daemonic allies for my Dusk Raiders.

@Jye - Nice colour scheme.
@ToD - Lovely* work.

*Obviously, I mean disturbingly grotesque here, but you know what I mean. :D

I finished some minis up today. They've been slowly accumulating paint on my workbench for over a month now.

A force with dapper hats is always important!

I've been chugging through boring nurgle units over the past few days - 7 more poxwalkers, to bring me up to a solid 30 so I can field everything in my combat roster if I feel like it, and 3 nurgling bases, to be followed by more since jus is going to be kind enough to part with some pretty cheaply.

lovely work, all :)

@Prim - you're hitting the historics again, I see. Int'restin, int'restin...

@dave - :cry: You probably have more painted nurgle than me at this point. I could cope with it when you had more Underworlds stuff cos you started that before me, but nurgle? Man, that's just embarrasing. :oops:

In other news: good golly miss molly I've actually started painting something. To be fair, it wasnt exactly by choice. I was round at Grim Ironjaw's house a couple weeks back, playing mtg (as you do), and happened to mention that my Aminatou deck could use a Sensei's Divining Top, but it was a bit costy for my tastes. Grim, being an all round Decent Bloke, says "just a mo. I have a bunch of those" and wanders off into the other room. Comes back and slaps a Top on the table and says "there you go." Discussion followed, along the lines of "oh no, but I couldnt" and "eh, go on. I have a ton of em" and so on. Eventually I negotiated him down to me assembling half a dozen mad gobboes and a few trolls, with associated painting of a troll for his BB team. So, here we are. Me, painting a troll. Progress so far:

Image

on a side note, the troll box comes with enough parts for 6 bodies, 9 heads, and only 3 necks and 3 sets of legs. Being who I am, I decided that making moulds of the necks and legs would result in another 3 trolls, a suggestion that was fully supported by Grim. Let it be known that while casting troll necks is easy, troll legs are the work of the devil, and you'd probably be quicker hand sculpting your own. Bloody toes... :roll:

@me_in_japan that must be one hell of a card if it's equal in worth to a paint job like that!

@Dave they look great, and I guess I'm going to get plenty of chances to look at them more while they're on my objectives refusing to die :lol:

@Primarch nice work - how big is the American Revolution collection now?

Those new trolls are great sculpts, and it's looking (as usual!) fantastic.

@Jye, the logic of souping into nurgle daemons for a whole bunch of cheap, high-wound, invulnerable-save, disgustingly resilient, infiltrating nurglings to camp on objectives is hard to argue with. Probably well worth the 2 CP a second detachment will cost me, for game sizes where I can do so.

@ToD - Say what you like about historical minis, they have a lot of options for fancy headgear.
Nice Nurglings.

@M_i_J - I'm as shocked as the next person. Who would've thought that after painting primarily historics for the better part of several years, that I would follow that up with more historic minis? It's a strange time to be living in and no mistake. :lol: :lol:
The troll looks lovely. The blending on your thumb is a little rough though.

@Jye - Thanks. The painted part of my AWI collection is only about 65 minis. I have at least double that amount in various states of assembly and undercoating tucked away until my workbench clears.
