Totally hobby unrelated, but the temperature here in Glasgow was 31 Celsius today.

In fur-reak-in Glasgow!

Madness, I say. Madness!

Seriously, I go back home for gloomy drizzle and biting wind. All these clear skies and people in shorts is weirding me out.
It's only supposed to be 33C here in Nagoya today.

Hopefully the heat wave will pass soon and you'll be able to enjoy some damp and overcast weather on your holiday.

Man, I was looking forward to escaping the heat during my trip to the UK next month. Thanks climate change. Thimate change.

I’ve been doing boring first steps on my porphyrion knights for AT - bases, priming, washes of Dave’s homemade nuln oil substitute, etc.

(Also I’ve been thinking about how a third reaver would allow me to field one of the cool variant maniples, and adding to my shopping list for said UK trip...)
Feel free to call me Dave!

Shorts! Madness indeed. Shouldn't you all be wearing kilts? American here, thought that was the thing.

I came out of my hobby dry-spell for a bit and did some more spik-ifying, on Fort Gork (or possibly Mork) Not quite done yet. Needs more rivets, skulls and fiddly bits.

@ Konrad: That is so awesome! You just need a feral child hiding in a hole with boomerang somewhere IMO. And maybe a flamethrower tower.

@Konrad - Awesome work. I'm hoping to see that painted up and decorating a gaming table sometime soon.

Well, for the first time in about 2 months I have some finished models to show off.

First of all, a couple of minis for D&D, an Ogre and a Mage.
Image

And some more minions, henchmen and heroes for my own homebrew system.
Hóng, Gélín and Lán, The Taiwanese Trio
Image
Hong, Gelin and Lan always seem to find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time. Luckily, their impressive fighting skills are enough to get them out of trouble almost as quickly as they can get into it.

Gāo and Dī, Kung-fu Conspirators
Image
Gao and Di have a long history of violence, frequently acting as bodyguards and hirelings for less reputable businessmen and gangsters. Recently they have been hired to provide extra muscle for a dark and sinister new crime boss looking to upend the old order of the city's gangs.

Huálì Húdié, Ancient Master
Image
Even Huálì doesn't know how old he is. Some say it's senility, others that he really is just too old. Regardless, he is still one of the greatest living martial artists in the world today. Said to have tutored some of the most famous fighters for decades, Huálì still hasn't found a protege worthy of learning all of his secrets.... yet.

Johan Klaud Von Bonn, Muay Thai Maniac
Image
Johan grew up in Thailand and looked after his mother after his European father abandoned them just after he was born. When his mother passed, he began training in Muay Thai, determined to hunt down his absent father and repay him for his betrayal. Knowing only that his father used to work for Interpol, Johan has decided to cause as much mayhem as possible to flush his old man out of hiding.

The Connecticut Kid, Anachronistic Anarchist
Image
Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, the Kid spent his youth watching re-runs of old westerns. Once he had graduated from the private school he had attended, he took one look at the world and decided that it had lost it's way. Modern life was too soft and people too lazy. There was only one solution, to bring back the old frontier spirit and trail-blazing ways that had made the US what it once was. The Kid was going to Make America Great Once More.

Randy Daniels, The Impossible Iron Foot
Image
Randy was on vacation with his folks when their car skidded off the road and down a mountainside. Pulling himself free, Randy was the only survivor of the accident. The last thing he remembered was being picked up by strangers wearing colourful garb. He awoke to find himself in the town of Banff, Canada. Using the secret healing powers of socialist medical care, the locals healed Randy's injured body. With no family to go back to, Randy threw himself into learning and then mastering the ancient techniques of Banff's martial arts school. Now, as a grown man he has returned to civilization, eager to reconnect to his past.

Betty Noire, Possessed Heroine
Image
Betty Noire used to be known as Betty Nelson, (Scroll down a little) a dedicated reporter. That's before she had a run in with the forbidden magics of the three chests of Wat Zit Du. Touched by the evil contained within, Betty is an agent of chaos in the city and is bent on unleashing the full power of the demons currently sealed away inside the chests.

It was 45 in Vegas last week...but that's the desert so hardly unexpected....

Awesome stuff. Seeing Konrad's fort reminds me that I really should repurpose all my old Necromunda bulkheads - the card bits of the terrain are getting a bit yellowed and natty and I hardly use them anyway.

I finished up the first (of two) of my lovely chunky Acastus knights for AT.

Image

I love him even though he looks like a 6-ball with legs.

It's been hard to paint much recently as firing up the AC in my hobby room for the short bursts of painting that are my habit is a bit of a pain, but on the other hand I'm not really in a rush for anything. :D
