I had a fun evening trying Constructed. 3 Control decks and 1 non-control. I lost 3 games and won 1.
I also got to see the new Mythic Chandra in action. She's absolutely brutal. If you can't kill her before she racks up a couple of emblems, you're toast.

I came up against a deck that (so far as I could tell) consisted of 4 of her, plus 4 of every other chandra under the sun. Bloody Chandras everywhere! I eventually managed a win by dint of having a lot of Assassin's Trophy in my deck, plus Tamiyo kept digging it back out of my graveyard to use again. Was pretty girigiri, though.

Incidentally, I'm currently working on an elemental/command the dreadhorde deck of my own devising. So far it's been vg in Play, but I have yet to test it in Ranked...

and after a couple games. Hmmn. Seems nasty. Might need to tinker a bit with the details, but so far so good...

Elemental synergy/lifegain
4 Risen Reef (M20) 217
2 Yarok, the Desecrated (M20) 220
4 Wildgrowth Walker (XLN) 216
3 Healer of the Glade (M20) 176

Explore
4 Merfolk Branchwalker (XLN) 197
1 Jadelight Ranger (RIX) 136
3 Seekers' Squire (XLN) 121

Graveyard digging
3 Command the Dreadhorde (WAR) 82
3 Tamiyo, Collector of Tales (WAR) 220

Removal (and btw Rav Chup is doubly murderous when Yarok is around)
1 Vraska, Golgari Queen (GRN) GR8
1 Vraska, Golgari Queen (GRN) 213
2 Assassin's Trophy (GRN) 152
2 Ravenous Chupacabra (RIX) 82
1 Massacre Girl (WAR) 99

mana base
2 Llanowar Elves (DAR) 168
3 Breeding Pool (RNA) 246
4 Overgrown Tomb (GRN) 253
1 Woodland Cemetery (DAR) 248
1 Hinterland Harbor (DAR) 240
3 Drowned Catacomb (XLN) 253
3 Watery Grave (GRN) 259
1 Memorial to Folly (DAR) 242
7 Forest (RIX) 196
1 Swamp (RIX) 194

Basically, it works by the synergy between Yarok (doubles ETB triggers), Risen Reef (provides extra land/card draw whenever you play an elemental) and explore (which goes nuts when you have a Yarok on the board. Also, there's Command the Dreadhorde for if everyone is dead and you feel like filling your board up, pumping the Wildgrowth Walkers to huge size, and gaining about 40 life in a single spell.) I've had some pretty disgusting games, to be honest. Still, there's plenty of new decks out there, so I await my nemesis with bated breath...

Cheers for the code - I hadnt seen that one.

Aaaand, I've found my nemesis. Dimir playing cheap boardwipes (tbf, anything playing cheap board wipes.) Ritual of Soot, Cry of the Carnarium (especially the latter, as it exiles, so I cant even pull them back from the graveyard afterwards.) I managed a win, but it was mostly down to very lucky card draws allowing me to deal with threats (mostly Kefnet, repeatedly ) as they came up. The deck has gone from a 89% win rate (for its first 10 games) down to 64% win rate now (um, about 20 games or so?). Still decent, but not as mahoosively awesome as before. I really don't want to go for that fully elemental deck you see around just now with loads of Chandras and all the red/blue elementals. It seems strong, but not my cup of tea. I may even attempt to make an M20 Grixis deck. Always liked Grixis...

What are you running just now?

Due to some 'fortunate' card pulls I have 4 Rotting Regisaurs., so I built a deck around them. It's not very good, but it's fun.
Last night, 1 game went:
My Turn 1: Forest, Llanowar Elves
Opponent's Turn 1: Dual colour scrylands.
My T2: Swamp, Regisaur
Opponent's T2: Swamp, Vampire.
My T3: Forest, Ghalta, Primal Hunger
Opponent's T3: Explodes.
Of course, it lost badly to control decks, but did ok against the RDW deck I faced.

Ah well, at least I have 5th Card protection against Regisaurs now. :D

Question:
Can you have two of the same planeswalkers on the board at the same time if they are different versions of the card. E.g There are 4 Chandras in M20, could you cast them all?

re: planeswalkers. Yes - as long as it's not the same card name, you're golden. A lot of esper decks run both Teferis, for example.

And yeah, rotting regisaur into Ghalta is filth. Shame on you, Prim, Shame!

Well, you know the saying.
"When life hands you Rotting Reggies, make er... Rotting Reggiade"
I think that's how it goes.

I think I'm suffering from some kind of trauma.
Yesterday I was playing a mono-white deck, they had no creatures to really block me and an empty hand. However, they were sitting on 4 untapped mana. I... I hesitated before clicking to attack. Their hand was empty!!

I'm positive Settle the Wreckage has caused some severe mental damage.

I wonder if there are any counselors who specialize in board-wipe related MtG:A PTSD?

An update from the Arena development team.

Seems like they are addressing player's concerns about the pass system.

Just read that this morning. Well, fair enough - credit where it’s due. players moaned, WotC listened and made (pretty significant) changes. People seem quite pleased with the changes, actually, including me, as they pretty much address my concerns.

Can’t really ask for more than that, I suppose. Job’s a good un.
