Finally got a couple of hours painting. 1st small unit of New Model Army firelocks nearly done.
Very relaxing time spent.

Also son intervenes and discovers the painting corner.
What's all this then? Right paints away, brushes down. It was fun while it lasted.

Those fire locks are coming along nicely. Also good to see Liam on his feet and (presumably) grabbing things wot he isn't supposed to be :D

Finally got the first unit of firelocks finished for Cromwells New Model Army. 1646.
Just need to add the anti shine Matt varnish tomorrow.

Historical fact: the new model army were the first instances of red, white and blue uniforms in British military history. :ugeek:

Maybe you can even visit a few of the sites? I have to say, I really envy how you Europeans (or even East coast Americans) have such readily available access to all sorts of historical places and artifacts. :)

@ Job, yes mate I'm planning on visiting Torrington as its near my house and there is a museum and walking reinactment tour there that's supposed to be good fun. I may visit Naseby as well.

I should get an outfit like that for when I'm teaching. The pose looks familiar, certainly... :P
