GW Getting (Back) into Roleplaying

Post by The Other Dave » Thu Feb 22, 2018 10:18 pm

Again, GW expanding further into "being a game company," which is a good thing. ... ge-post-4/

Not that I roleplay much, mind, but I know lots of us do.

Not much to go on yet, but it looks like a pretty non-revolutionary narrative-oriented light-end system (if you look at the design diaries on the publisher's website, which are linked in the article, it's all attributes and skills and talents, well-trodden ground to be sure), which is OK - sadly, not every game can be built around using bespoke dice . Some interesting (if, again, unrevolutionary) ideas about including archetypes of different "power levels" as well.

It seems as if they really are trying to broaden their customer base and provide games that appeal to more people. :D Good for GW. Having just thrown away dozens of 40K RPG books from Fantasy Flight due to never using them, I can't see myself buying into this one, but I can see the appeal for people who have more time/opportunities for gaming.
