Re: What did you do today.

I've assembled about half my Skaventide box but I also have another Skaven Spearhead and an entire Soulblight army to put together. I really hope folks like AoS 4th ed and I definitely hope some fool with too many 40k armies doesn't end up just playing that all the time instead 🙃 It will probably ta...

Re: Warhammer Osu Store - opening 13/7/2024

@The Other Dave and I played a few games of Underworlds in the store yesterday, and they seemed very happy to have us. Place was pretty busy but we were the only ones playing so I don't think it's too hard to get a table. I think you'd probably need to talk to them and plan ahead of you wanted a big...

Re: Warhammer Osu Store - opening 13/7/2024

I managed to get back from Tokyo in time to swing by, I guess they open till 7 on Saturdays? It's a decent sized shop, there's two play tables big enough for Spearhead/Combat Patrol/Warcry/Kill Team etc. You could probably drop in and play a game of that size without much worry, and it's easy enough...

Re: which is the easiest faction to play in Fantasy / 40k

I think the Beast Snaggas are better value because they have squigs. Squigs trump everything. More seriously if you want the previous patrol, grab it. It was replaced by the Beast Snaggas so will become more difficult to find, while the current Combat Patrol will be widely available for at least the...

Oh! Got a copy you could lend me? I just finished reading/(e-booking) "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" and I could use something to rinse the taste of that out of my mouth.
I'm afraid it was on Audible and helped me through some.painting binges.

Re: July 2024 Nagoya Games Day - 7/21 at e-able

I have 5 days off so I am going to splash some paint on my Soulblight and/or Kruleboyz. Not sure which is going to be better in Spearhead. Still looking for a game? Yeah absolutely! The rules for Kruelboyz and Soulblight should be out over the next couple of days - yesterday was Chaos and the day b...

Re: What did you do today.

The guy who did the Revolutions podcast (A+ military history geekery, can't recommend it enough) Mike Duncan wrote a book on Lafayette. I should give it a read one of these days. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hero_of_Two_Worlds:_The_Marquis_de_Lafayette_in_the_Age_of_Revolution I quite enjoyed it, ...

Re: which is the easiest faction to play in Fantasy / 40k

For 40k I think Custodes is probably easiest. They have a simple gameplan, simple Army rule and the Shield Host detachment just makes the army rule better. The units are tough and forgiving of mistakes, and there's not many of them so list building is straightforward. The main problem is figuring ou...

Re: What did you do today.

Yeah, I've actually been able to be fastidious about picking up my dropped runes so far, which is probably at the very least a sign that I'm not going anywhere I have no right to be. Are ashes consumables? (Actually I only just figured out that potions aren't, not really, and restock when you rest ...
