Re: Welcome

Howdy Aaron! Sorry for the delay in response - I only check in here from time to time, although I am over on the discord a bit more often. Whereabouts in Mie are you? I'm in Tsu. Fwiw, if you're looking for more competitive games Nagoya may be a better bet for you - the gamers I know in Mie (includi...

Re: Airfix Battle of Waterloo

Cheers, Ash. Currently at work so can't watch youtube. But aye, the discord is the place to pop in and say howdy. The Naghammer site is the best place to keep hobby logs, though. It's a very useful repository, whereas the discord is more of a chatty place :)

Re: What Did You Do Today?

I undercoated a bunch of fungazombies. Exciting? No. But it's what I did today. 👍

(I'd link a photo, but doing so from my phone is way more trouble than it's worth. I'm not even sure if it's doable, actually.) Anyway: imagine legions of whitish grey fungal zombies.

Re: The Way Forwards for NagoyaHammer

I agree in principle, but OTOH I've been probably-annoyingly evangelizing Underworlds for 8 years now and haven't actually gotten any NH folks to bite, so. But I'll keep doing it nonetheless. Eh now, hang on there un petito minutio, 🤨 I played Underworlds pretty enthusiastically until GW push...

Re: New Year's Resolutions - 2026 Edition

Well, I'm still here too ☺️ I check the discord about as often as I checked here (pre-discord) and comment about as often. It is definitely easier to post photos to discord, though. Eh, I'll stick my head in both places from time to time. Goals for 2026 in no particular order: paint the remaining zo...

Re: Malifaux 2025

Well, if it's coming out of his medical bag, your guess is as good as mine. I mean, he's some sort of 'orrible little haemunculous serial killer* thingy, so, I mean, anything could be in there... *what is the copycat killer, anyhoo? Is he a little person? A neverborn? Something else? I'm not very up...

Re: Malifaux 2025

maybe there are tentacle-y things in the sewers? Given Malifaux, I'd be surprised if there weren't, tbh.

Also, many thanks for these periodic updates. I often miss Wyrd's info drops, so it's much appreciated :)

Re: Prim Pontificates- ...but am I really though?

I definitely understand what Prim's getting at here. I've been going through my cupboards recently, attempting to rejig my storage space, and have been pulling out old boxes full of minis I'll likely never use. I have a ton of Cryx, but am I a warmachine player? Well, no. Haven't played it in years,...

Re: Prim Pontificates - I am a (???) player

I am a lazy gamer. There, I said it. With more nuance, I am a gamer who doesn't have half as much free time as he'd like, so I tend to gravitate towards games that allow for easy parsing of rules and which can be played with minimal investment of hobby time. If I already have minis I can use for a g...

Re: Prim Pontificates - Wargames should be more asymmetrical

All this is personal opinion, but I love narrative games (which is just another way of saying asymmetrical). I think if you're a frequent gamer, to whom rapid setup and smooth logistics matters, then balanced, points-driven games are the most applicable option. But, speaking for myself as someone wh...
