Re: NH24 - 40K (Friday May 3rd) Planning Thread

How about having a painting event, perhaps during the lunch and evening breaks, where people put out their unit/army and then the visitors vote on the top units/armies.

Re: How long does a game of 40K take?

Every tournament or organised event I have attended for 9th has been 3x 1000 points at 2 hours a game. I assume 10th with be something similar. Most rental spaces in Japan seem to be limited to a 9-5 schedule which makes time an issue.

Re: Warhammer Fantasy Campaign

We play with 8th edition as that has everything in Japanese as well as English.
Warhammer Fantasy works well because of all its charts and tables and crazy possibilities.
The helcannon did not once missfire, eat its crew and start chasing after the goblins, but there is always next time.

Warhammer Fantasy Campaign

On Sunday the Fukui fantasy group had the second game from our narrative fantasy campaign. This time it was Ogres and Chaos Vs Ogres and Tileans after 1 of the ogre generals changed sides before the battle. The report is here along with part 2 and the earlier games. https://miniwargameruraljapan.blo...

Re: NH2024 is a GO!

I will try to gather some players from Kansai/Hokuriku. Most play only 40k but there are some Blood bowl and Age of Sigmar players. The 40k players would probably prefer some kind of structured/tournament format. The Hokuriku players are mostly Japanese while the Kansai players are mostly from other...

Re: 40k team Tournament in Fukui

I think they were Imperial Navy Breachers, they were the firemen of his emergency services army.

I do think team and doubles events can be more fun than normal singles.

Re: Discussing a potential NagoyaHammer 2024

All the models are 28mm from perry and victrix. It is a British army with 6 regiments of infrantry, 3 cavalry, 2 light infantry and 4 guns.
I also have some French, but not that much.
I also have drop zone, drop fleet, battle fleet gothic, warhammer fantasy, and various other games that no one plays.

Re: Discussing a potential NagoyaHammer 2024

If there is a 40k Tournament, I can probably find around 10 players from Kansai and Hokuriku. I don't know how many would do the other non-40k day. Most of the local Japanese players are very 40k centric. The Kansai people do have some wider tastes with Blood Bowl and Age of Sigmar being the main on...

40k team Tournament in Fukui

On Sunday I ran a small 40k team tournament. I wrote about the details and put some photos up here. https://miniwargameruraljapan.blogspot.com/2023/09/warhammer-40k-team-tournament.html I regret not taking more photos of the imperial agents army. They were emergency services themed. The army size wa...

Re: Hello from Hokuriku

That sounds good. I have been to Kanayama before.

I am running a team event on Sunday here, so I will try to gauge interest for a group trip next year.

I used to live in Kanazawa as well. For some reason most of the hobby activity is located around Komatsu rather than Kanazawa for some reason.
