Re: Warhammer Fantasy Campaign

Yay! I love a bit of narrative campaign, although it's been literal decades since I actually played in one. My hat is off to all involved. Wargaming the way its meant to be played!* (*by which I mean "the way that all the players have fun". Obviously, some like narrative, some don't. That's fine. ;) )

Re: October Nagoya Games Day - 10/22 at e-able Nagoya

@Jye - sorry for the delay. I can confirm it'll be me and my eldest (Sean) using Drukhari and Necrons in an unholy alliance against 2000pts of whatever you care to throw down against us, although we'd perhaps appreciate it if that wasn't three land raiders (although one would be totally fine, and if...

Re: October Nagoya Games Day - 10/22 at e-able Nagoya

my three Land Raiders  or, put another way: I took a quick read through of the goonhammer article, and now have a better idea of what you're talking about. I do find it interesting to read such things, not only for the info they impart, but the way they draw attention to the divide between T...

Re: October Nagoya Games Day - 10/22 at e-able Nagoya

@Jye - maybe you could play against me and my son(s) at 2k points? I'll see how they feel about things this evening and get back to you more definitively later on. It's close enough to the day that I should be able to say yae or nae, one way or the other. I don't have access to the 10th ed SM book y...

Re: October Nagoya Games Day - 10/22 at e-able Nagoya

Howdy. Is anybody available for some low-points 40k? I think I'd like to come up, as its been a while, but I don't want to risk it if folks are all booked up. Still not sure if/which kids are coming. There's a balancing act of them wanting to come so as not to miss out, but not actually wanting to p...

Re: buying stuff from GW

When you order stuff from overseas, you'll get a (random, so far as I can tell) customs fee slapped on it, from time to time. I've been here for nearly 20 years and I still have zero idea how they decide to do it or not. Likewise the cost seems hella variable. Based on my own experiences, you're far...

Re: October Nagoya Games Day - 10/22 at e-able Nagoya

I'm tentatively going to try to get up there this month, with one, two or no kids, depending on which way the wind blows. 40k for preference, Malifaux if folks really want me to, but I'll need time to prep for that if that's the case. I'm not 100% confirmed in any case, but I figure I may as well be...

Re: The Golden Age of TV. So, what are you watching?

Int'restingly, I got myself a VPN temporarily so my kids could watch Young Sheldon (their gran started them on it back in Scotland), but I've taken the opportunity to watch Avatar: The Legend of Korra. I realise that saying "Avatar is good" risks associating myself with a certain type of anime fanba...

Re: Hello from Hokuriku

Hi Matt! Welcome, and good to have you with us :) There are plenty of others here who play 40k (including myself, when I can make it up from Mie prefecture). I'm sure Primarch/the other dave will be along in a bit with more info etc, but we meet once a month and I've got no doubt you could find your...
