The Gauntlet - January

Counters, tokens, markers, whatever you call them, a lot of games need them. From measuring wounds to tracking victory they are an important accessory that often gets ignored or put on the back burner in favour of getting miniatures or terrain done. They are often replaced by beads or dice, which is a shame as there is a lot of scope for nice looking objectives on the tabletop.

The Gauntlet for January is:
Stage 1 - One counter/token/marker
Stage 2 - Six counters/tokens/markers
Stage 3 - Twelve counters/tokens/markers
Stage 4 - Twenty counters/tokens/markers
Stage 5 - Thirty counters/tokens/markers

All entries need to be finished off and a photo posted by January 31st, 11:59 pm.

OK, I'll take part in this challenge. However, I'm going to avoid hard deadlines and I can't promise pictures. The former due to other work/dad duties and the need to get sleep when possible. The later because I'm a lazy bum (and I haven't figured out a convenient way to post on this forum from my smartphone.)

January (-Febraury)
1) Put finishing touches on Katalan robots
2) Finish one 24-figure battalion of French infantry
3) Finish 6 Chaos mutants

Hang on - isn’t this thread for gauntlet-specific pledges? I reckon I could take a stab at some Malifaux scheme markers. Lawd knows my showgirls need em.

OK, I see what Primarch meant. However, I don't really see counters as my priority as I have a few in my collection. However I so found an odd extra in my bitz box the other day so I'll endeavor to finish one. No promises of a picture.

I’ve actually got both a bunch of unpainted 28mm barrels lying around and a need for objective markers for 40K. Here’s my pledge to get chocolate in my peanut butter (and there’s a dated cultural reference if there ever was one) and get six objectives painted up by - let’s be ambitious and say the next Nagoya game day.

good work there, Prim. My efforts...sadly seem to have transmogrified into a mega dread. Odd, that. It hasnt helped that my eldest is off (and will be off until Friday) with the flu, so daytime painting time is limited. Ah well - there's always next month...

The clock is ticking, I hope to see a few objectives and tokens being completed this evening.

*hangs head in shame*

score for this month: a miserable zero

I blame the mega-dread.

But, a small ray of light is that I can see the end of the tunnel of dread-painting, and tbh I do need a load of objective markers for my showgirls, so I shall most likely make some in the near future anyway. So, I will be late, but there's a good chance it'll get done soonish.
