Re: The Gauntlet - March
right: here's where I'm at so far. One crashed Imperial flyer. Works as scatter terrain, objective, and is (believe it or not) exactly the right size for a base for my current, been-languishing-on-a-shelf-for-years project.

Re: The Gauntlet - March
Nice weathering on 'im too!
I'm actually struggling a bit - I've been very good, over the past year or so, of following a "buy what you're going to paint, paint what you buy" directive, so I've got a total of like two 28mm models unpainted that are more than 6 months old? Mind, I could hit the objective easily by painting up one base of 6mm Greeks or whatever but frankly I'd like to focus my hobby energy on something that might actually see play.

Re: The Gauntlet - March
Quick update on this. I spent most of yesterday's painting time swearing at/fighting with my airbrush. Just clog after clog after clog. Further objective investigation today indicates my a/b paints are getting old, so yay, time to buy a whole buncha new paints Or possibly a pair of tights*...
Anyway, today was more productive, so here's progress so far:
much, much more shading, glazing and weathering to go, but I daresay you get the gist. Shall I finish 'im before month's end? Watch this space...
ps assembling this was easily the most difficult assembly I've ever done. 6 legs, = 12 joints, none of which are pinnable, on a level, or even aligned so the two parts fit together neatly. Bloody nightmare, lemme tell ya...
*for filtering. Obviously.

Not quite sure how your attire would aid in cleaning up your paints, but you're the expert I guess.me_in_japan wrote: Or possibly a pair of tights*...

Nice work on that Plague Hulk though.

Re: The Gauntlet - March
darn it, and I was doing so well this month. Looks like I shall be unable to complete the challenge this month, as I have been given a commision to paint for someone, which obvs has to take priority. So, Ol' Stinky Britches will have to take a back seat while I paint elves for a bit. On the plus side - yay! An actual honest-to-god commision. Money, n stuff! Huzzah!

Re: The Gauntlet - March
Well, I got 4 models done. I had planned to do one more, but never got it started in time.
I've had these Ramshackle Games drilling machines for years.
I also had a play about with Vallejo's chipping medium and the end of a file to make a more worn look.
And this dreadnought has been sitting on my shelf since the Betrayal at Calth set came out. The stock model only has one power fist equipped arm, but I cut up a second model and added a second arm. The guns built into the palms should be twin-linked bolters, but I decided plasma blasters would be better.

Re: The Gauntlet - March
clearly, I didnt manage the gauntlet this month. I'll keep at it though My excuses are: I had a commission, and then my parents visited. It's been a not-a-lot-of-free-time kinda month...
