One of my favourite finds from the Expo was this 'what if' 1938 battle with lots of character models and flavour.
Thought you chaps would like it: http://youtu.be/oq-S6yK1hTw Character models include Dads Army, Poirot, Dr Who and Black Adder.

They have a forum a very British Civil forum and several clubs around the country. They are currently playing a 'what if' campaign set in 38/39. :)

I like the illuminated gunpowder effect. The table is wonderful.

What models did you go for Primarch? Did you buy a faction or some flavour models?

Some civilians with guns (Warlord's Partisan range) and a Russian made armoured car that is suitable for the period.
