@ Komura: Cool. Thanks for the opportunity.

@ Dekana, Auxryn: okay, the Night Lords it is. Expect no mercy for imperial scum and the space smurfs.

Hey, because I know you guys are brining the Riptide and I have nothing to even remotely challenge it, I'm bringing along the Greater Brass Scorpion. I just want to give fair warning. It is just for kicks, to see what it is like in regular 40k and anyway it fits better with my bag for scenery and such.

Me and Satoru will be having a grudge match Gorkamorka game in the morning. If anyone is free in the afternoon we can have a multi-player demo derby learn the game mash up. Zoom dakka crash!

Thanks to Kojibear and Lovejoy for a fast, fun game of Black Powder. I thought my Zulus might have been able to break the British line, but the men of the 24th held firm and managed to shatter the morale of the native horde with a mixture of rifle fire and some fancy bayonet work. Well done lads.

Kondo san informs me that next months game will be at the Zengo venue as Joshin was fully booked.

See you all at the next one.

A sad day for the Imperial Guard today. Their first battle today against Auxryn's gundam... er, battle suits went poorly, as the Tau were able to leverage their greater mobility and deep strikes against the short ranged IG tanks. On the bright side, the guard tanks proved very resilient even in the face of repeated close range melta attacks.

The second game, allying with the Tau to fight a common enemy in job's chaos space marines, went even worse than the first. The giant scorpion death robot rampaged over all opposition - It was all the guard could do to avoid being tabled. The victory points were closer than the first game, but still in the enemy's favor.

Thanks to job and Auxryn for the games! I think we all brought lists a little outside of our comfort zone, but both games were thoroughly enjoyable.

Big thanks to Prim for preparing the AZW game, and Nick for partnering me. Kojibear and I managed to channel Michael Caine and co., hold out and break the zulu onslaught, but there were times at the beginning of the game when the sheer numbers we were facing made a win seem extremely unlikely! A deceptively well balanced scenario.
The models looked great and clearly a lot of work went into getting the Zulu and British contingents ready. Even though there must have been around 200 minis on the board, I suppose it could be classed as a small game in Black Powder terms, so It went at a brisk pace and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. With only one artillery piece and stacks of zulu infantry (all of whom were terrible shots), there was much more of a hand-to-hand element than I'd experiemced before. Hopefully we can have another crack at this era at some point (Rourke's Drift terrain?)

@ Komura: Thanks so much for showing me Pike and Shot with samurai. I like the size of your collection and the balance of the game was very interesting. I really enjoyed how we each took one and both games were very close, with both of us winning games when our units caused chain routs. It was fun!

@ Auxryn, Dekana: That was a crazy, chaotic game! Thanks for letting me play the Greater Brass Scorpion. The beast really went on a rampage, accounting for 1.5 Leman Russ tanks, 6-7 crisis battle suits, lots of drones, a Vendetta, and finally the Riptide! (That was just personally satisfying because I've never managed to bring down a Riptide before.) Of course the thing had only 2 Structure points left and it had lost a total of 8, recovering one and making many fortunate Daemon invulnerable saves. And the Tactical objective cards were very fun, but rather random. When our decks pulled a combined 4 cards for Objective 4 by the beginning of turn 4, I thought it was going to be in your favor by a landslide, but I ended up with a streak of luck myself at the end and I pulled off a 21-15 victory.

Whatever, it was well fought. Thanks for finishing the game. I have to give it to you guys. Your really knew the rules in and out. Thanks again!

262 minis all told.
I'll probably add some more stuff over the winter and try and set up another, slightly bigger, game next year.
