1500 pts would be great!
Do you want to bring the terrain or should I? Perhaps you can bring the buildings and I will bring the city tiles?

I'll bring buildings, and I've got a gray mat and felt roads - that should probably do us.Auxryn wrote:1500 pts would be great!

Unfortunately I'll have work on this day (again) so for the second time in a row I won't have hte pleasure of meeting you all! Maybe next month, I'm still enthusiastic though!

The room is 405 today. Go left and take the elevator up.

Re: July 31 at Kariya cultural center
I enjoyed a game of Warhammer Quest in the morning with ToD, Auxryn, and Itakura-san. Thanks for bringing the game down, ToD! Next time some of us might even live
Afternoon games were few and far between, so I watched Frostgrave for a while to get an idea of how it's played. It looks a bit like HoR or Cutlass!'s Treasure Hunt Scenario with Warmachine's Warcaster thrown in, but I'm told it is more like Gorka Morka in some ways.
My virtually non-existent Japanese didn't help a lot, but luckily most things were listed in Katakana. There seemed to be 3 phases- a Wizard phase, an Apprentice phase, and an Everyone Else phase. Each phase one "unit" from each players Warband would activate. Otherwise there was a lot of spell casting, with success based on rolling over a number on a d20, and some shooting rolls opposed by dodge or defense or something.
The Wizard who summoned two Bears and then had them possessed with Devils seemed a little scarier than the Wizard who summoned a Fox Familiar and made his Archers faster, but I didn't stay for the whole game so maybe I missed his good points.

A small turnout, but very good fun. I'm enjoying Warhammer Quest a lot - it's pretty hard, and, it turns out, really requires everyone at the table to work together to have any chance of winning. Like I said, too, it's nice sometimes to not have to worry about painting a bunch of miniatures up before you can play a game, and it's really nice to be able to play cooperatively.
Speaking of non-cooperative play (
) thanks Auxryn for a good game of Dropzone! It ended up being closer than I thought it would be after a pretty disastrous first couple turns for me. Keeping an eye on objectives helped, as did threatening a couple of objectives with flame tanks to keep you off them. I really do think I want to try some games with armor 8 buildings, though...

Thanks for the games of Warhammer Quest and Dropzone!
I thought I had pulled off a great coup when I crushed your elite infantry with all of my own infantry, only to have suffer heavy losses in exchange. That put me on the back foot despite securing advantages early. I'll try bringing a Totem next time instead of the Warspear who failed to show up the entire game. Also, I need to remember my cards.
