I checked out your site. Holy cow, nice gaming room your club has. Too bad you're down in Fukuoka!Wiz wrote:The cheapest way I could think of to make tables for a recent tournament was to use sawhorse brackets, with mdf boards on top. Total in materials came to 5200 yen per table, with about an hour+ to make each, and they store away reasonably small.
I took photos as I was making them:

If you game on Saturday evening that might work for me. I could bring a one shot for Cthulhu or Fury of Dracula boardgame.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

Well I'll be there around 18 in the afternoon... so what about coming over around 19.30? Of course we are doing this thing only if we can gather enough people, else we will do it next week. Let me know

Cheers, Wiz
If only I'd read that blog post when it was posted. I just spent 1man on a folding conference typee table for my spare room
(which, looking on the bright side, I can at least use as a painty table). Still - nice simple method of making your own table. Big thumbs up from me
ee dont post much, our Wiz, but when ee does, it's best ter sit up n lissen

If you don't mind my asking, where did you get your conference table? I need a long for my office/hobby room, and I'm no use at assembling anything larger than my head.me_in_japan wrote:Cheers, Wiz

Re: COOL PLACE FOR GAMING SESSIONS AND EVENTS
well I'll be buggered. I stand corrected. I checked my email and the table was cheaper than I had thought:

6480yen. Nae bad a taw, naw?
I have a gaming board I put on top of this, obviously. Now that defintely cost me 1man. I remember it verra clearly...

I got 3 conference tables from a used office furniture store near to Higashi Betsuin. The 3 tables and 6 decent chairs set me back 60,000 yen. The tables dont fold up, but look nicer (though they're hidden under a gaming mat and several tonnes of plastic sprue and dont suffer from wobbly table leg syndrome. They are also 100% immune to the effects of someone "Doing a John". (In-joke for the veterans round here)

Re: COOL PLACE FOR GAMING SESSIONS AND EVENTS
Sounds like a good place to game! I could come some Fridays - maybe some Saturday evenings too, but less likely, as my work schedule on that day changes a lot. I would be up for board games/ wargames.
Re: COOL PLACE FOR GAMING SESSIONS AND EVENTS
So? This week Friday or Saturday? Tell me... I have to ask THE FOX also...
Re: COOL PLACE FOR GAMING SESSIONS AND EVENTS
I'm unlikely for this week because I have other plans and work, but how late were you thinking of playing games? (Back at the old gaming store, board game night often went on until 3/4am.
Good times.)
