I hear people in the UK at least are moving to Blitzkrieg Commander from FoW these days, same scale and setting after all, but supposedly more emphasis on realism.

I quite like what I'm reading of it, but then command and control / fog of war / "battlefield friction" is a big turn-on for me. I think it's just as "gamey" as FoW, just with a different focus. It does seem to assume more knowledge of the source material than FoW does - I find myself referring back to the force org charts in FoW when looking at the army lists in BKC. 'Course, that same brevity allows them to include army lists for pretty much every army in every theater throughout the whole war. Rumanians? They've got you covered.

@ToD: I'm interested in trying Blitzkrieg Commander sometime. Tell when you want to try it.
I have some cruisers and some frigates I don't need. Maybe we can work something out.
Sure thing.

Games I would like to play sometime in 2014 or 2015: Pike and Shotte, Strange Aeons, Infinity and Black Powder.

People I owe games of their choice to and would be happy to join: Prim, Job and Lovejoy. A game each or collectively would be great. This is in light of my absence at the Kuwana game.

If someone wanted to do something in March I would be happy to give Monster Apocolypse, Drop zone Commander, Strange Aeons, Epic or infinity a try.

I would also like to get together to play Dungeon Lords, Space Cadets: Dice Duel or Taunhausser.

My roleplay group is pretty much dead due to fathers and responsibilities. Can I engage any interest in a mini campaign either for Age of Arthur, using Fatecore rules or Warhammer Fantasy RPG The Power Behind the Throne or better still Achtung/World War Cthulhu homebrew. 1940s Trail of Cthulhu. I'm thinking 4 to 5 sessions played over the year, probably in Nagoya or Kuwana. 3 hours a session.
I only ask because I have loads of these games.

Wargaming this year: 40k 6th ed or new ed. Black Powder, Prussian reserves on their way. Pike and Shotte when it's ready. A smallish skirmish in the westcountry.
Warhammer O and G.
Flames of War Brits.

Blood Bowl, someday please.
Space Hulk anytime.
Talisman as above.

I think he wrote "40k, 6th or new ed." and "Black Powder" but I would be up for a new edition of Black Powder than of 40k! :D
