Sure. The draft rules are all up in the dedicated section of the site if you want to give them a once over. I will bring along a couple of Warbands.Auxryn wrote:@ToD - I do want to try playing Marines in ASC sometime. Perhaps another time.
@Badruck - looks like a fair chance of rain. On the chance it doesn't, shall I bring some orks?
@Primarch - I assume Hunters of Ruin is the skirmish game you were demoing at Nagoyahammer? I seem to be at loose ends and I'd be happy to give it a try.

Great! I'll probably show up around noon since I never arranged a morning game. Can I assume I won't need to bring anything?
Re: Joshin May 31st
Yeah, I'll have everything we need for the game. I'm bringing along a Red Claw and a Rat-kin warband if you want to look over the pdfs.Auxryn wrote:Great! I'll probably show up around noon since I never arranged a morning game. Can I assume I won't need to bring anything?

Re: Joshin May 31st
@Prim, I had time to paint up some Mercenaries and will bring basically the list that I played against at Nagoyahammer (Boss, wizard, 2 swordsmen, spearman, 2 archers). They look not too disimilar to GW empire models, oddly enough.
Really wanted to get the beast-kin together, but sadly there wasn't enough time to get them assembled and painted.

Re: Joshin May 31st
Today I enjoyed two great games. Both were tight and had there highlights.
Game with Sottotenente Komura-san. Trained Italians vs. Veteran German, early war. Maximum Attrition.
1st Turn, Both sides showed up with mortars and howitzers. The Italian tankette races down the road boldly down the center.

The light howitzer fires over open sights and... misses the tankette.

2nd Turn, The Italian artillery blasts an entire German squad with one shell over open sights. The tankette also races down the road and kills two of the German howitzer crew. (1-0)

3rd Turn. (2-0)
The last man on the howitzer bravely holds on to the gun as his commander shows up.

The Italians push for the ridge line.

The Italian tankette turns to press the German left.

The Germans look to sneak up on the Italian tankette.

Turn 4, the Italian tankette tries to assail the German 1st Oberleutenant (1st Lieutenant), but the bullets fail to touch him and his Unteroffizer. Then the flamer pounces on the crew who panic and abandon the little tankette. (2-1)

The Italians come charging down the road.

Turn 5, The Italian infantry destroy the flamer team. In turn the Italians are battered by German fire. Another group of Italians are whipped out by a charging German squad. (2-3)

Turn 6, Little occurs as the Germans and Italians skirmish the final turn. The Italians finish off the German sniper tying up the game. (3-3)
Well fought Komura. It was a lot of fun.
The second game was with Mikball.
3000 points of Skaven vs. Dwarves. Battleline
Opening, Dwarves set up first and the Skaven win first turn.

Turn 1, the Skaven bear down hard on the Dwarves. The Storm Banner masks the advance keeping the Dwarf flyers and artillery from participating.

Turn 2, End of Skaven movement. The Skaven slaves charge the Dwarf rangers holding the ridge, but get shot to pieces by a volley of accurate quarrels, then chopped to pieces as they scale the cliff.

Turn 3, Skaven assault. In the previous turn the Slayers charged the Hell Pit Abomination, ending with 10 of them crushed under its weight. The rats pour on as Queek Head-taker yells out a challenge and is met by Ulther One-Hand, who loses his head but not before burying the axe in his one good hand into the foul Skaven once.

The Hammerers surrounding Argyle cut their way into the ruined town, braving gushes of warpfire. The rangers continue to steadily hold the center as they pin cushion the Rat ogres with quarrels and defeat the last of them with axes. On the dwarf left, a unit of thunders were mutated into rats who began to assail their once erstwhile and bewildered friends in the flank.

The Dragon Slayers attempt to hold on in the face of overwhelming numbers.

End of Turn 3 on the Dwarf's right.

The games was called after 3 action packed rounds. The score at the time was 1200/1300 points - 669. The dwarves had the advantage and killed the opposing general, but Queek remained on the field and the dwarf right looked to be in a tough position.
Good game, Mikball. I look forward to more Warhammer in the future.

@Job @Yellowstreak
Thank you for gaming with me yesterday. Both game were tight and I enjoyed it.
Next opportunity probably last Saturday of June, I'd like to try twin platoon.

@Job - Cheers mate. Had a great game, would have liked to continue and score a few more points, but the game was well and truly yours. Thanks again and more in the future
Re: Joshin May 31st
@Lovejoy and Auxryn - Thanks for giving Hunters of Ruin a shot yesterday. It seems that once you have objectives on the table, the speed and numbers of the Rat-kin start to pay off.
The system itself seems ok, though some things came up that I need to tweak at some stage. Getting 3 games in at one event and being to leave early felt good.
See you all at the next one.

@ Komura: I'd like to see that two platoon force some time, and thanks for taking on the translation of the tournament rules.
I'm sure next time you'll get another chance to overrun the dwarves. BTW, I forgot to add the thunderers you morphed to the point cost so you had over 660 VPs, so it was much closer.Mikball wrote:@Job - Cheers mate.
