All praise the great and generous Prim, The Baron of Bulkheads! The King of the Spire! The Ayatollah of Rock and Roll-ah! I now know what my next hobby project will be! Honestly man, that was a kings ransom in plastic. Thanks.
@Pike and Mikball- If I'm going to get my butt kicked, always nice to have it done by a beautifully painted army. Nice stuff.
The shurikannon bikes were scary, but one of our few minor victories was gunning them down and watching the Farseer run off the board. The Eldar psychic phase, man now THAT is broken.... Eldrich Storm, 3 psi points, sounds tough to cast...unless you get to re-roll your dice :roll:
@Lovejoy- sorry I was sooooo utterly stupid and got our butts kicked. I should have set my blob and HQ back farther, I forgot to generate a Psychic power for my Astropath, I dumped the flamer Vets in way too early, way to close, etc. etc.......
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

Thanks for the games today guys. My Raven Guard came home with one win and one loss, so that's not too bad I guess. Still need to find a way to effectively deal with hordes and monstrous creatures, as Nids always seem to have too many bodies to deal with.
Ah well. See you at NagoyaHammer.

@ Komura, Dekana, Primarch: Well fought first game. It was close. I really didn't see how we were going to break the line, but Primarch made a gutsy push up the center with his Raven Guard that might have cost dearly but with some savvy jumps and good old fashioned power armor brawling, the attack busted open the IG line. I suppose my chaos played some small part with the Sicaran making some critical hits to suppress the IG guns and Heldrake making a mess of things. Still, it was tight up through 5 turns.

@ Komura: I guess the 2nd game kind of went heavily my way after finishing 3 turns. Oh, well. I guess sometimes it happens. Hopefully our next game will be close.

@ All: It was a full house and fun to see all the armies out.

@ Komura, Job, Primarch, Mike: Thanks for the game! Primarch's Raven Guard in the morning game really surprised me with that jetpack move into my rear, as did the very well used tank shock. The Sicarian was used to great effect as well, immobilizing one of my chimeras, shaking the demolisher, and destroying the vendetta. I'm going to have to watch out for the dirty Forge World / Chaos contrivances in the future!

The game against Mike's new Eldar was my first time playing footguard, so that was a big learning experience for me. As in, I learned to be afraid of fire dragons.

Battle reports! I put them on facebook this time, and I'll be damned if I'm going to re-post it all here. So here's a link if anyone wants to reminisce on the good times. I think I mixed up some of the things that happened on each turn in the first game, so take it with a grain of salt. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 20f23062ab

@Konrad, Hey, I could have thought ahead more too. But we learned a lot and bloodied a few noses at least (aquiline, snooty, eldar noses ... and chaos ones..like mutated elephant trunks I shouldn't wonder). Felt good to scare away that jet bike riding, mincing pointy-eared-perfumed-ponce of a pansy pskyer with withering bolter fire, after he had all but annihilated another identical Grey Hunter squad just before with an Eldritch Storm. After reading about the new eldar codex I had been worried about the presence of scatter laser jet bikes and D weapon wraith doofers, but those psychic shennanigans shocked me. Still think those melta pods are a winner if you get good rolls, but we can't expect those squads to stick around.
We didn't disgrace ourselves. Just seemed like there were too many threats to handle and we were thinly stretched somehow. And I really wish I could squeeze more into 750... Crikey, it really doesn't seem like much!

Thanks to MtP and Mikballs, our gracious opponents. I am sorry that I did a douchebag celebratory dance when those Chaos Terminators had a deep strike mishap, and forced Mike the Pike to reroll a cocked die meaning that an armour save on one of his models was failed (and removed from play) rather than saved. Actually the latter amused me greatly. Needless to say however you guys had the last laugh!

Thanks to everyone who came today, particularly ToD and Mikball. I was glad to get in a large game of Dropzone Commander, as well as some much-needed practice before NagoyaHammer. Sorry I had to rush off without a proper end to the second game. We'll need to have a grudge match some time in the future.

@Job Prim Dekana
Thank you for arranging 40K game yesterday. I've enjoyed them even though lost two games.
I've tried infantry oriented roster yesterday. Unfortunately, it didn't work well.
In coming May event, I'll prepare more armor than yesterday.
@Job
Indeed! I'm looking forward to gaming again.
@Lovejoy
Thank you for Monk present. It's my favorite! After May event, I want to play Ronin with you.
@Everyone
See you soon at May event.

@Underdweller, Yellowstreak, Jus and Prim - Thanks guys for two great games. The Nids are always fun and hopefully you had a blast playing em too :)

What did we learn?

1.) Zoanthropes can impersonate the Emperor and make a group of Sisters of Battle fight on their side :D

2.) Captain Shrike does not boast when he says he can dice and slice a Brood Lord into sashimi sized portions. :D

3.) Carnifex's hit you like a freight train running on rocket fuel. :D

Found!

1x tape Measure. Blue, un-branded. Yesterday at Joshin after the dust settled. Let me know if it's yours and I'll bring it along to Naghammer or the next games day.
