If there are board games, I'd love to get in on that!

BTW, @ the BP guys, what are we going to do for a scenario? We really don't have game master for this event, so should we king of concoct an agreed event together?

If I could advance an idea, I was thinking like an encounter engagement for a hill or ridge line would be cool. We could have forces on each side advancing off the table edge trying to quickly move up to capture a strategic position. Kind of in the likes of the battle of cynoscephalae or Gettysburg. Maybe we could settle the affair by determining which team can jockey, capture and hold the better position by our measure of military strategy, assuming one side hasn't already banged up the other horribly in the battle.

My participation is looking dubious at best. My wife is 5 weeks pregnant and suffering the dreaded anti-gaming morning sickness (which is lasting most of the day). The Doc says Baby Me 2 is also at risk of a miscarriage if she over does it. My wife is already ringing in help from relos, so me going off to play games is probably not an option. Gotta stay home an look after my wife and our 2 year old.

Sorry if that was too much info, but I didn't want people thinking I was piking for no reason. 'Cause I was well keen on doing some Warmachine and board gaming...

No worries mate. We all understand. Wife and health come first!

It appears that the morning will be Black Powder and Magic the Gathering. As for the 'who's coming', maybe we should confirm that too?

@dlord - congrats on the future You2! :) and yeah, you should be staying home at this point. There will be other chances to learn warmachine, so no worries.

@kbear - looks like its just you and me, baby

Sure, sorry everyone I've been driving trains most of the weekend and then sticking the films on youtube. :geek: sadsadsad :geek:
Dungeonlord, sorry you can't make it but don't worry we totally understand. Try to take it easy through this difficult stage. I missed a fair few of your Kuwana events earlier in the year for similar reasons although I didn't say at the time. Gambatte kudasai.

The game event is pretty much open to what you want to play, arrange on here or on the day is fine. Apart from two tables in the morning and a painting table. There are four tables available in the room. France x 2 Rich and Job Vs Great Britain and Prussia (Prim and Ash). Strategic ridge objective sounds good Job. Please think of a scenario if you have time. We can try that.
Jesse will be running Magic in the morning and has decks for people who haven't played before and what to drop in on a multi player game.
Most people attending are bringing a boardgame on the off chance.
As to who is attending: Me, MIJ (@ painting advisory guru table), Prim, Satorou, Rich, Egor, Koji, Ten, Moyashimaru and Andy.
Andy is bringing Talisman for a game in the afternoon, he has lots of expansion packs to run for it. I think Leslie is bringing Ogre or an rpg and Rich mentioned Middle Earth Quest which sounds equally amazing.

Look forward to seeing you there folks. Meet and greet at 9:40, Tsu station outside Mr Donuts. Or inside in the case of rain and you are hungry. :D ;)
If you know where Centre Palace is see you there. Room 3 second floor.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

@Ashmie: I found the place on Google Maps, but it looks like its a bit away from the station. I'll try to meet you at the station. Thanks for being gracious host and guide. :D

As for BP, don't think I'm trying to dominate the planning or anything. I'm just throwing out ideas. (Another that came across my mind was taking Prim's idea of having units appear from off the board, and adding a "Order of March" so the units appear according to how you organized the march.)

Anyway, I hope it is all great fun.

Oh, I really hope I have the chance to join Talisman because it is such an awesome game, even if it takes a little while.

it probly doesnt matter, as there are probly enough tables, but Kbear and I (or another newb, if they want) will be playing a training game of Warmachine in the afternoon (from 1ish or a bit after. I'm not fussed exactly - Thats just when I get back from Suzuka, is all.) I have enough minis to do 2 armies of Cryx, but I believe Prim is bringing some Khador just to keep things varied. Anyway, ideally I'd like 2 newbs to be playing so I can just coach you both, but if nobody takes me up on it I'll just play Kbear myself. (in a coachy fashion, of course. Nowt to be gained by stomping newbs. Says so in the Warmachine rulebook, actually :) )

Have you tried tasting the tears of a newb? There's nothing sweeter to the soul after having tried them.
