MONDAY 23rd December - Joshin Gaming

Post by Primarch » Thu Nov 21, 2013 4:39 am

I know it is a little early, but as Xmas is usually pretty hectic with people travelling and parties and so forth, I figured it is best to get things kicked off early.

In December, the Joshin event is being held on a Monday, not the usual Sunday. It is a national holiday though, so most of us shouldn't be working.

So, who will still be in Japan at this time of year? I know a few people in our social demographic go back home for Christmas, but I will be here. Anyone else?

As this event falls on the Emperor of Japan's Birthday, I would like to do something with an Imperial twist.

If there are any takers, I can bring along an army for Black Powder, my brave redcoats fighting for the British Empire. Any Russian/Austrian/French players want to have a go? If we can get enough troops together to face me, I can loan out a brigade if anyone wants to participate? As Joshin is usually quiet at the December event, we can hopefully get a bigger table and really go to town.

If Black Powder isn't your thing, I have some Imperial Romans and some scruffy Barbarian types, so Hail Caesar is a possibility. I have enough for two players, so you don't even need to bring any models.

My third choice is to bring some troops from the Imperium of Man, for some 40K action. In the name of the Emperor, they'll crush any aliens, mutants or heretics you care to bring along.

Any takers?
P.

#Edit# - There is a game on in Tsu on the same day. It has it's own thread. I have tidied this thread up to keep it related to the Nagoya event. If you are going to Tsu, please post in that thread. If you are coming to Nagoya, please post in this thread. Thanks.

I'll be here and, for a change, ought to be able to make it.

I've been hoping to give advanced space crusade a run, so if anyone's up for that I can bring it along.

Oh, and I'd be up for a demo of Hail Caesar, too, or even possibly a small-scale friendly game of 40K, assuming I can make something useful from my ASC stuff.

@Prim: Would your Redcoats like battle before the new year? Ashmie has a situation at work that interferes with us having a game.

@ToD: I'd like to see your ASC, and maybe we can discuss DSC which I'm still keen on.

Just to confirm the event is still on until 6 just I have to work in the afternoon. Black powder might be possible from 10 until 12:30 or we can play something else.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

It's up to you mate. If you are staying in Nagoya, sure I will give you a game. From the sound of things it sounds like you may still be able to cross swords with Ash for an hour or two though.
If you can let me know what you want to do sooner rather than later, it will give everyone a chance to line up other games.

@ToD - I've been busy adding stuff to my Romans and Celts, so I should be able to put on a fair demo game if you are still up for it?

@Anyone else - I have a spot open for Hail Caesar if anyone else wants to jump in. Depending on what Job/Ashmie decide to do, I may be free for something else as well. If I am playing Black Powder, I have enough units to share the command if anyone would like to try the game.

I love playing Ash and his prussians but 2.5 hours seemed a little hurried. Ash and I had a very enjoyable game warhammer that went for 2 turns over 3 hours. We spent also spent a couple hours on setup and break down.

Anyway, while my wife and I will go out on the 22nd together, the truth is it might be better to say nearer home on my anniversary day.

Sorry, false alarm. I may actually be going down to Tsu, particularly if I can line up something in the afternoon. :)

@Job - consider me lined up for the afternoon in Tsu. 40k, if it please ye, squire. What army do you play? I ask because I want to avoid bringing anything that could prove unkillable. Also, I could possibly bring a few models for you to use if you're short, depending on what army you have, of course.
