The Reciprocal Gaming Exchange (RGE)
The Reciprocal Gaming Exchange (RGE)
By popular (can popular be 3 people?) request, here is Nagoyahammer's Reciprocal Gaming Exchange thread!
The Idea: Gamers like certain games. Pet games, if you will. But gamers cannot always find other players to play with. By virtue of the RGE you get to play your games with other kind souls who are willing to play your game. In exchange, you will play their games. Obviously, tabletop mini games, boardgames, rpgs are fine, provided the other player(s) are up for it. There's no necessity, either, to play an accepted version of a certain game. Home brewed craziness is fine between consenting adults.
Simply post below, and tell us all which games you would really like to play. It's hoped that others will read through them, see who we can help out, maybe even find some games we are curious about. Times and dates to play can be organised below or by PM. It would be nice to see if the idea is a success however, so feedback or planning here would be appreciated by us all if you're willing to share it.
When you play together, you should:-
A) Know the rules you want to play.
B) Have all the necessaries ready for your game - faction minis, dice, regular or peculiar. Terrain if needed might be shared between you.
C) Guarantee to play the other players game of choice, perhaps set an acceptable time limit, as it may be best to complete both games on the same day to keep everyone happy. Your funeral.
D) Enjoy yourself!
That's about it. We don't want to be too prescriptive here. Help each other to play the games they want to play, and do so with good grace.

I love your idea, Lovejoy!
To be honest, I did this kind of thing once with ToD for Epic and FoW. It got me sucked into Epic. Just a word of caution though: Do budget your time. ToD and I never got around to the FoW game.
A) Flames of War
B) I've got American armor and paratroopers along with variable support options and British tanks also. In addition I've got German infantry and armor along with various support options. Also I've been building a French company with options to actually build a German early war list, too.
C) Terrain. I've got I believe over fifteen 15mm buildings along with fences, roads, fields, hills, orchard and growing collection of trees.
D) I'd love to play your game and get addicted to it, too!

Cheers Job, let's keep them coming. I might be up for some FoW.
To keep the ball rolling, I'd be keen to play the following miniature games:-
-Judge Dredd Miniatures game
- Strange Aeons
- Ronin (samurai skirmish from Osprey, very Kurosawa)
- Saga (dark ages skirmish, very unique and highly respected)
- Muskets and Tomohawks (rules and minis on order!)
The last 3 on the list will need to be painted up, but I'm willing.
Also have many special scenario ideas and one of home spun pet projects too, which I will post another time.
Also keen to run the Song of Ice and Fire rpg.

BTW, I'd love to play Muskets and Tomahawks (I like the miniatures in the Perry and Warlord range, especially the Franches de la Marine.) and I am interested in Saga. I've honestly been tempted by both skirmish games for some time and harboring quiet dreams of playing either.

At the moment, I can run games of:
-Epic
-Advanced Space Crusade
-Monsterpocalypse
With a couple more projects in the pipeline. I'd play pretty much anything!

Re: The Reciprocal Gaming Exchange (RGE)
So many games to choose from.
Thanks for starting this thread Lovejoy!
For myself, I am always keen to try out new games and more than happy to teach people games I currently have.
Some games I want to play are:
Hail Caesar (Romans Vs. Celts)
Black Powder (British Vs. Zulus)
And I am more than happy to help people who want to try Bolt Action as well, I have 2 largish armies with a 3rd on the way (and a 4th waiting in the wings).

Re: The Reciprocal Gaming Exchange (RGE)
@Prim: Well, I'd be happy to play Hail Caesar and Zulu BP in exchange for Dredd or Saga.
@Job: I'll play FoW for Muskets and Tomohawks or Saga
Some potential already then. Anybody else? I often hear Malifaux in connection with games not played enough.

@ Lovejoy: Sure thing! So, how many minis do I need to play T&M or Saga?

Re: The Reciprocal Gaming Exchange (RGE)
@Job, the idea of the exchange is that I can provide the minis so the other player needn't, its not mandatory of course though. If you have some Dark Age or FIW minis then feel free to use them.
For saga, I'll be making 2 small forces of about 25 men each.
For M&T I ordered some starter sets from the northstar site, each force is 23 minis.
So each game will require around 50 minis. Got to paint them of course!
To get an idea of starter forces for both games, Northstar, who distribute them are worth a look, as are Gripping Beast who make both Saga and m&t.
