Hi, guys at NagoyaHammer,
As you may know, I will leave Japan at the end of Aug. to study at UH, Honolulu.
Kondo-san has gave me an offer of Apocalypse game as send-off for me. We would like to enjoy the big battle for an entire weekend. In order to let me to meet as many of you as possible and rise fee for the venue, we consider to make it two-days event to replace regular Joshin event for July. You can join the Apoc if you like, but you can also play other games.

As we consulted the webpages for lifelong learning centers of Nagoya City, we have two tentative choices now.
Please let us know if you will able to get to the following venues by yourself. If it is not feasible for you to come, we will either play our Apoc elsewhere and drop in Joshin to say hello or search another venue in central Nagoya.
(Could you let us know the fees for Kanayama civil hall, for example?)

Option 1: Moriyama Lifelong Learning Center (Available from 13:00 Sat. to 16:30 Sun.)
http://www.city.nagoya.jp/kyoiku/page/0000051823.html
Pros: Located near a train station. Also have lodging for users.
Cons: Located north suburb of Nagoya. Take unexpectedly long time via trains.

Option 2: Tempaku Lifelong Learning Center (Available from 9:00 Sat. to 16:30 Sun.)
http://www.city.nagoya.jp/kyoiku/page/0000051817.html
Pros: Auditorium is available for the whole weekend. It's also my neighbor ;-)
Cons: Poor public transportation. You need to take buses from Aratama-Bashi or Yagoto (two buses an hour each) or take buses from Hara and have a 10 minutes walk. Take time to travel from outside Nagoya.

I'd love to join and send you off in style, Asch, but this event will overlap with at least one day of my trip to Turkey and Greece. I come back on the 26th, so if one of your sides can receive reinforcements on the 2nd day, I can bring some toys and play. (Of course I hope there are on plane delays or anything.)

Otherwise, it looks like a lot of fun and I will try to make it where ever you can Kondo-san can organize the event.

If I'm carrying stuff for Apocalypse, I'd prefer to be near a train station. Transferring between buses/walking long distances isn't fun with a huge pile of models.

I think most of the public halls are about the same costs and opening times. The hall I've used in Higashi Betsuin has the same opening hours. The hall for NagoyaHammer is really expensive though. The main room is about 25,000 yen per day and you need to book it 6 months in advance.

Regardless of where you choose to play, I will be there with some Apocalypse sized toys to play with.

I have the opposite problem to Joe, I'll be leaving on a business trip from the 27th, but maybe can join for the 26th.

@all
Thank you for interested in sending me off in an Apoc way!

@Prim
Good point. Without a car or someone giving a ride, it's a kind of nightmare to take a bus (supposedly full of granmas) with baggages of Apoc scale :o
Thank you for information about Kanayama Civic Hall! Even with reservation problems aside, it's too costy.
We thought Higashi Betsuin Center is cheap and on a good location, but we cannot know there are vacancies via Internet now. It underwent an overhaul, which made its reservation webpage down, and does not come back with the page. We would go down there and see what's happening.

@ Y-S: Maybe we can tag team? :D

@ Asch: Oh, I have only one request about location. Please get a room with good AC. July heat might the arch-nemsis of wargaming. :!: お願いします

I'll be there.
(Just look over your shoulders, honey,)

Seriously though, MJ aside, yeah that sounds great. You've done loads for the gaming community over the years both gaijin and nihonjin. I can bring my marines. How many points do I need for Apocalypse? Not played before but I'll try to make both days.
Since it's July can we find somewhere with good air con? ;)
Sad to hear you are leaving, but sounds like the chance of a lifetime.

Thank you guys for your interest and comments!
Unfortunately at least for Prim, it seems getting bigger than we expected.
Kondo-san and I discussed last night and came to conclusion that Tempaku Center is the only available venue so far. We've booked auditorium with seating capacity of 120. It allowed us to field as many minis (or bigs ;-)) as we want.
We will check the AC when we visit there in person to pay room charges
As to the transportation, please let us see how many people ride to the venue. We would be able to share cars. (Taxis charge less than 1000 yen to take you to the place from Hara Station)

Hi Asch, I live in Hara.

Are you talking about the Tenpaku SPORTS centre? If so I live 5 mins down the road, and it is about a 5-10 minute walk from Hara station depending on how heavy your bag is. If I am free and can attend, I can ferry a few people on the day in my car.

It's not the Sport Center, but lifelong learning center ( 生涯学習センター, in other words 公民館) in the south of Hara , next to Tempaku Park ( a hilly park with a pond and several playing ground .)
