Happy Halloween in the City of the Damned

Post by Konrad » Wed Sep 03, 2014 6:41 am

Thought I'd start a new thread for this. Some talk of there being some Mordhiem going down during the October Kuwana game day.
I'm up for anything Mordhiem-ery, though I think a big, multi-player scenario would be the most fun.
Many Halloweens ago we did just that, using the Wizard's Mansion Scenario from the Chaos in the Streets rules.
http://david.cadenas.free.fr/FICHIER/Mo ... treets.pdf
Basically, one Warband sets up in the middle of the board holed up in a ruined Wizard (Mad Scientists) lair. They get some extra goodies to help balance out the fact that every other Warband is coming to trick their treats the hard way. Of course, only oneWarband can win, so alliances, treachery and and more treachery are the usual holiday festivities.
I have an Undead Warband (Boo!) Dungeonlord has THE indestructible Vampire of Doom Undead Warband (BOOOOO!) Makes for a good start.

As mentioned, I can try witch hunters. Dug out the minis and can definitely make a war band. The more people the merrier though I guess, judging by the scenario!

It is a cool scenario. I have another killer warband if someone needs one.

I have skaven, I'd like to try these out. Sounds good, Mordheim is always fun. October?

Ash, you have the vamp warband too don't you? We could double up on the vampire warbands for Halloween. I love to see those freaky looking dreg models. Skaven pretty halloweeny too though tbh.

Sounds fun!

I have...Lizardmen and Dwarves (Cutlass) and Undead (Bloodbowl) and things (Dungeons and Dragons figures) - no actual Mordenheim stuff but hopefully something that would do?

How many people could play at once? Or would it be happening on multiple tables?

I'm no Mordheim authority, but I think that your Cutlass Dwarves may be the most useable, I found some sort-of-official pdf rules for using Dwarves in the game.

And these:
http://www.hong-crewet.dk/Mordheim/Warb ... angers.pdf
The first part of the rules is here:

If you google for other parts, they should be floating around somewhere in cyberspace.
The rules used to be free on the GW site until they stopped selling the mordheim models. A shame, I wish I'd picked up some more warbands now. Mind you, the all-plastic empire free company boxed set (part of the empire WFB army) has all you need to start a human warband. A great set that, must be one of the last fair deals they do, what with 20 miniatures for a fairly reasonable price.

Incidentally, iOS is getting some incarnation of Mordheim soon I think.

@Lovejoy - OK, thanks! Then I will probably bring Dwarves.

It is too bad GW has decided to stop supporting their skirmish games, you would think it would be a good way to get new people into the hobby.

Yeah, GW marketing strategy for the past decade has been to pump and dump. You just can't move 100s of dollars of battle boxed sets with little skirmishy games.
And speaking of "getting people into the hobby" Stooge wants in and says "Warhammer player is rookie group of Nagoya They are interested in mode Heim. Let's catch advertise" I'll ask him to shout out.
