I'll bring my demo kit for the big stompy robots along! (Thread at large, depending on how my baggage shakes out, that may mean my 10 ed debut waits a month, but I don't guess we'll be lacking for games for the next little bit.)Tyranii-chan wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 5:28 amI’ll be around, either for 10th goobles or the other miniature game which is actually giant

Huh. I've been quickly list building, and I have to say that having all the points on one page (or two, if you're space marines ) really speeds things up. Now, granted, I have bugger all idea what things actually do, but at least list building was quick. Now all I gotta do is print off my cards and actually learn the rules
(to be fair, it was pretty painless looking up the odd composition rule like "can character X join unit Y". So far, I'm finding the current layout quite favourable. Also, I can put nurgle daemons in my DG army, which is nice.)

Re: June Games Day - 6/18 at e-able Nagoya
We got points and (yay) the full rules glossary/designer's commentary so the game will be very much playable on Sunday.
The caveat is the leak finally had a miss - no mission pack. So unless there's a surprise drop today we'll be playing the Only War mission from the core book. That's good, because it's very simple (short edge deployments with the zones starting 12" from the centre, roll off and alternate placing objective markers at least 6" from edges and 9" from each other until you have four on the table, from second round score 1VP per marker you control in your command phase, max 3). It's bad because it won't show off the fun of mission play.
On balance it's probably for the best learning-wise! But I'll look forward to busting out the cards next month.

I have my list built to 1000 points.
It is weird to me that there doesn't seem to be a requirement of 2 Troops and an HQ, but I will have plenty of battleline and a character.
Once the baby is in bed I will need to pack the old mini case.

I'll be there from the morning with 1000 points of black templars and some prints for people. If prim could kindly bring an old templar sprue side landraider door that would be awesome
Re: June Games Day - 6/18 at e-able Nagoya
Yep, I'll try to remember to pack it. I also need to bring some horses for Konrad.

If anyone is expecting anything from me please remind me - I forgot Balloonacorn's Kruelboyz last month and hoping not to repeat the oversight!

Me, Sean and Noah will be there from about 10ish. I've made 1000pt lists for each of us, and will have a little terrain packed, too.
My knowledge of the rules is iffy, and my kids don't know them at all. My apologies in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. (Of course, I'm currently doing my best to get the rules in my head, so personally I should be ok, but I'd really appreciate your understanding of my kids' lack of rules knowledge )

@M_i_J - Your kids haven't learnt the rules to a game that they've never played and isn't officially available yet? The youth of today really are shockingly lazy. Why, back when I was their age we had to learn the rules to games that hadn't even been dreamt up by their creators, 2 editions in advance I might add. And we didn't have any of these newfangled plastic minis. Oh no, we had to make do with models made of solid lead and based on asbestos.
Good times.
I'm sure it'll be fine. No-one else really knows the rules yet either.

I am cramming like a student before an exam
The one thing I think will be a bit of a surprise is how easy it is to get cover. Most terrain pieces give it if a model is not *fully* visible to *every* model in the attacking unit. So tuck some base or hull behind something solid and you're probably good. Remembering that should keep the lethality down a bit and give us a bit of breathing room to learn.
