July Games Day - 7/30 at e-able Nagoya

Post by The Other Dave » Mon Jun 19, 2023 6:57 am

Hi all,

The July games day will be Sunday, July 30th, at e-able as we've been doing for a bit. As usual we'll have the room from 9 to 4:30, and it looks like the 500 yen fee will still be covered by overages from last year!

After Titanicus-ing in June, I'm going to try to bring my Death Guard along this month to try 10ed out. I guess we should have a mission pack by then - probably we can more or less flexibly bring along 1000 or 2000 points and see how tables shake out?
Feel free to call me Dave!

We will have Combat Patrol too, which will be a fast/easy option better suited for learning.

I'll probably bring 2K of Marines and two likely looking Combat Patrols so we can break down however.

(Also Dave if you need another PBC or more Blight Haulers to make up numbers let me know. Mine don't exactly match the Dusk Raider aesthetic though  )

I've got a second blight-hauler in the mail, and depending on how they perform a third may be in the eventual works. Double crawlers just seems nasty, but I'd want a second mdf octo kit to match my first anyway. I would like that second spawn, though, if you can spare it!

My family schedule is not matching my gaming schedule so I will have to skip this game day too.

I will likely be free for Malifaux or some other type of Skirmish or Board game. Otherwise, I'll give this one a miss and see you all after the summer holiday.

I should be there as usual, but looking to try out my Imperial Guard in 10th this time.

I'd be happy to try a 2000pt game with you if you're interested.

Sure! I have a list in mind - no idea if it's any good, but it's at least an excuse to paint a bit more stuff.

I've been cleared by mrs mij to go to this event AND to leave the kids with her this time. While I still need to clear this with the kids themselves, theyre a lot easier to deal with (ie. if it comes down to it, there's always "no. yer not coming. dad wants to play this time. sorry.")

Anyway, so, I should be there for 40k, and possibly Malifaux, too, if folks would rather do that.

Anybody fancy a game of 40k against someone who doesnt really get it?* (I'm currenly composing my thoughts on my relationship with 40k. It's taking a while, but I may even post it here some time...) Or, anybody up for some malifaux?

*it should be noted that this game day will fall a week or so after the end of school term, so with luck I should have some extra time during the day to peruse rulebooks and actually get a deeper level of understanding, for a change.
