Hmmm.

Did FW make this up, or is there a precedent for an evil bat-lion-deer-thing?

*edit* ah - tis not original. It's just that FW can't spell. It's actually a Peryton, apparently. Wikipedia, font of all knowledge, we bow down to thine infinite wisdom.

FW should stick to doing tanks methinks. I have been rather underwhelmed by a lot of their big fantasy beasties.

The bodies tend to be fine, it's the faces that dont work for me. I reckon this could actually work, if you got rid of those teeth and gave it a bit more of a glare/scowly type expression. As it stands, it looks like a weasel just bit it in the nads.* Likewise with the amethyst dragon they did. The beasties I like are the basilisk (which is pretty much a textbook basilisk, but kudos to them for making it definetly not a dragon) and the bale taurus, which is a bull, and therefor hard to mess up the head. Ya just gotta look at a real cow and youre pretty much there.

*oh, and pick bat wings or feathered wings. Ya cant have both. Deal with it, FW people!

Tanks and infantry. The monsters. For the chaos gods are good but after that I think GW monsters are much better.

Chaos might have done it, but it still looked fugly as all hell. I know the deerbat is supposed to be a kinda wierdy amalgam of foresty animi, but there is such a thing as design aesthetic.

I like it. Really looks mutated and it is truly a monstrosity, beautifully ugly. :D

You know something's screwed up when the painted version doesn't look any better.

I thought that looked bloody awful on the FW site, but decided to spare us all the horror by reproducing it here. Terribly colour choice. And the feathers? I think Ive already made my opinion clear on the feathers...
