Yes, I felt like we had played four turns and it had only been two. I loved the fast pace of the game and the close combat seems to happen all at once. Great illusion of things all happening simultaneously on the battlefield/tabletop. We only used 700 points but it was enough to keep it interesting. I have the models for 2000 but I quite like these smaller point games. Less to think about.Jye Nicolson wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 10:03 pmGlad you enjoyed it! 10th has been really good in pretty consistently delivering good games, there's been some issues (*cough* Aeldari) but I've played a ton of close games now and it usually only gets definitively away one way or another in round four or five ime.
Really loving Tyranids too, seen a lot of the dynamic you describe where the opponent has a cracking time fighting and killing them but then the scoreboard is on Team Bug They feel very fair and interactive while still being pretty good at gathering points. I had planned on bringing them to Nagoyahammer but they eat into my ability to carry terrain with me so it's Marines instead.

Now I'm sitting at my painting table pondering the eternal question: What's the best color for a squid?

Love the gobbos! I've just cracked open the boxes for my Gitz, hoping to have a Spearhead ready for AoS4.

Waaaagh! Blue tiger-striped squig! Blue is lucky! Love that zap-gun. I wonder if the latest incarnation of Ork allows for anything better than a 4+ BS. I hope not!Jye Nicolson wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2024 11:09 amOrange but I already did orange
Love the Ufthak, thanks very much!
For my part I assembled all the Kroot and I'm working on gluing various mecha suits as a reward for metaphorically eating my vegetables. Will be time to paint again shortly though.

Someone somewhere in the codex can probably swing it but in general no, the answer is just MOAR DAKKA (high numbers of shots and getting more via Rapid Fire or Blast).

Actually no, I can't find any combos that let you get better than 4+. Dread Mob gives you a bunch of extra rules (like rerolls or Sustained Hits) that help get more hits (at the cost of Hazardous and the unique ability to have even worse versions of Hazardous) but absolutely nothing lets 2 or 3 on the die be your friend in shooting.
Krumping them in melee on the other hand...
Edit: Shokkjump Dragsta has a 3+ Shokk Rifle. Ork Snipers indeed!

More Terminator types, with this season's more fashionable weapons.

Re: What did you do today.
Great work with all the painting guys. I've had precious little painting time since NH and will have on business trips for a good chunk of June (I will lose 3 weekends in a row to travelling...). Did a little work on my marines from Strike Force Justian (the blind box Kill Team set). I'll get some pics up soon.
So many games, so little time....
