Yeah, reading the article is hardly convincing given:

1. GW has removed colors from their paint line almost without warning several times in the past.

2. This week, a spokesperson for GW said (in mainstream media) that they aren`t about gouging their customers - it`s not what their company is about!

I just don`t believe them or trust them any more...certainly not what their homepage/White Drawf blurb says.

If they re-added Midnight Blue and Pallid Flesh, I`d forgive them a bit, though.

As I understand it, the formulation is changing - it's not simply the same old paint with new labels. The renaming is because while the colours should be the same, they might not be. I know that what they call "Bestial Brown" and "Shining Gold" are nothing like the original Coat d'Arms-supplied colours, so frankly, I prefer this way of doing it.

meh, paint is paint. I'll probably pick up a few and see how they are next time I'm in the UK. As for the comparison chart, I'd be damn surprised if someone didnt post it on the net about 10 minutes after it was made available. Heck, itd be in GWs interest to do that themselves, as if they don't they're just cutting off their non-WD buying potential paint customer base.
current (2019) hobby interests
eh, y'know. Stuff, and things

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

If their black paint doesn't dry with a satin finish, that alone is worth going back from Vallejo for. :) The Washes - sorry, Shades - range also seems to have more useful colours, too - yellow and orange, and hopefully that "camoshade" means I can stop mixing Thraka Green and Gryphonne Sepia.

I´m not a hard core painter like some others so exact color compositions are not as vital to me as it might for you but my thoughts here.

More washes (by other name) --> cool
Extra colors --> cool

New names without any rhyme or reason or even conection with regular colors --> not cool at all

When I buy a paint I want a name I can recognize without a equivalent color chart, if I´m hunting for a bronze I want a bronze not a screaming bell, a The Fang, or Necron Compound and what the hell of a hue is a XV-88?

Next week I´m going to Osaka to restock washes and the few GW I like and then will drop GW paints too from my list. I can buy Vallejo at Kobe with the plus that in their line black grey is just that and not reaper explosion this product cycle and something different the next one.

What the heck kind of a teaser is that. They did not even show the paint. Or even an example. Lame and not very cool. I love my Vallejo paints and I just ordered a heap more. I also found a company that deals in high end inks. It is cheaper than GW and it looks every bit as good if not better. http://www.coloradominiatures.com/searc ... acturer=78

I am very happy that Devlinmud may be going the way of the dodo bird. (guess the animal that GW made it from has gone extinct).

And chaos black goodbye worth less color that I hate for no reason.
