No, although they have done in the past. They arrived at a sensible time, and like most sensible folks were sleeping at 2am. I, however, was just finishing up Fortnite for the evening. I can’t paint at the mo, but I can play pooter games on the dining table.

I’m level 102, now. It’s…really a pretty surreal game sometimes. Last night I had to go talk to Ariana Grande, and found her riding a floating toy unicorn on the pier. But, while I was talking to her some other player dressed as Harley Quinn shot at me with a shotgun. Unfortunately for him/her, the blast clipped Ariana, who whipped out a machine gun and proceeded to extract bloody vengeance. Then she sold me a sniper rifle, and sent me off to investigate giant glowing purple alien footprints on the farm.

No, really.

@M_i_J - It sounds like you should lay off the LSD before playing video games.

The reviews of Dune sound strangely noncommittal.

Let me rephrase my review. It was really fricking good. I’m just trying not to spoiler stuff. But yeah. It was very, very much worth seeing. Good acting, well directed, and really spectacular cinematography. Definitely worth seeing on the big screen, imax if possible.

Incidentally, I know MtG has had some questions asked about licensing deals and having other IPs infiltrate the game. Fortnite (infamously) takes this to a spectacular level. Like anything taken to its ultimate extreme, it’s simultaneously vomit inducing and strangely endearing, in a kind of “well, at least they committed ” way.

Eg. Carnage, Paul Atreides, a skeletal banana (don’t ask), Rick (from Rick and Morty), Superman, and, well, Ariana Grande are all playable skins. And a neon pink anthropomorphised unicorn with rainbow hair and a gold lame jacket called Fabio Sparklemane.

He’s fabulous. 8-)

It is an art Film + It is a serious Sci-Fi movie = watching it reminded me of watch 2001: A Space Odyssey for the first time.

As the man said, I wouldn't want to spoil anything but I would recommend seeing it on the big screen while you can.

Today I started gluing with Harrowdeep Stormcast, Eldar and Marine planes for Aeronautica Imperialis and kept going through even more Stormcast. Getting both Lelith and Junith done clearly robbed me of the comfort of my backlog and it needs to be bulked up again.

re: Dune - Everyone I know who's seen it has pretty much been in the "it's so good I'm literally speechless, also see it in IMAX or GTFO" boat too. Hopefully I'll be able to find time to do so soon!

I spent an enjoyable morning reorganizing Underworlds cards and counters. Also thinking about how to assemble and paint the leader of the orc warband, who has a friggin' birdcage over his head that's going to be very difficult to leave off for painting thanks to how the model goes together. Probably I'll have to get a nice thin razor saw (to remove it without damaging it) and paint it separately.
Feel free to call me Dave!

After a lot of assembly and priming I did get a small bit of painting done, and it's part n of "not actually obsoleted by Primaris" - the Long Fangs.

While they have some disadvantages compared to Eradicators it's a lot of raw melta for the cost and they can go in a drop pod.

In this case I stuck Devastator kit onto Intercessors and while slightly wonky it should be good enough for the table.

(Sarge is missing because I screwed up and read the Devastator profile rather than Long Fangs and stuck the wrong guns on - not really a problem for casual play but I already have a marine painted up with the right gun so I can just use her)

@dave : wait, so that orc’s head cage isn’t a separate part that you can just stick on after painting? Whaaaaaaaa?

Nope! The front of the cage is attached to the front of the body, and the back is attached to the back half! It's so spindly, I can understand the thinking, but on the whole it's a sort of frustrating design decision.

@dave: d'oh!

Today I finished up my three Depleted for Malifaux (See here )

I also, for the first and probably only time in my life, got 200 likes on a post I made on Facebook. Honestly, I was just grumpy yesterday morning and wrote a short post suggesting that the fine people inhabiting the Magic Arena group (a veritable hive of scum and villainy, to be sure) stop bloody complaining about the shuffler being rigged against them and learn to fix their own deck instead of blaming it on others. I wasn't really expecting much response at all, and if I had thought about it I'd have probably predicted being raked over the coals for being a patronising/naive git. But no - it's been effusive praise and standing ovation gifs for the past 48 hours. Heck, half a dozen folk have even shared the bloody thing elsewhere. I guess the takeaway is that I should scold the internet more often *shrug*
