The blue and gold Custodes looks cool.

I finished up some models over the past couple of weeks, but forgot to post pictures.

First off, two models for Malifaux. A Death Marshal Recruiter and The Jury for my Marshals Crew.


A Necromancer (you can tell by the bendy weapon that it is from Reaper Bones). I painted this using the slapchop method and contrast paints. Then I went back over the skin, because I cannot get the fleshtone contrast to look like skin.


I completed another demi-squad of Novamarines.

And the captain I converted from the AoD box set.

These models push me just past the 50% mark on my Novamarines army, so here is a WIP shot of what I have achieved so far.

Nova Marines are lookin' pretty spiffy there, Primarch! Betcha yer glad you listened to my ideas now, aint'cha?


(but seriously, though - they do look bloody good. My hat's off to you for persevering with the quartered scheme *hat tip*)

They look good. And you've made it hard on yourself by doing all those mk 4 Marines. No chest eagles or cabling to hide the join on the torso.

I've spent the last couple days on my own little heresy train again, prepping the last bits I need for my first 3000 points of Epic 30K death guard:

In terms of flexibility on the field, I'd prefer assault marines or destroyers for the jump pack jumpiness, but death guard don't field either of those in big units, so breachers (riding in storm eagles) it is! I might also stick the storm eagles on plain old textured bases since I almost certainly won't ever actually use them in AI. I reckon I can get these guys done by the 30th, and have a nice fully painted demo to play with jus.

I would have though that in the context of the Horus Heresy and Epic that 40 Marines isn’t a “big unit”.

They can go bigger! It's more that a mere 20 marines is indeed a small unit, not good for much beyond sneaking around and trying to cap unprotected objectives - Alpha Legion tactics, he said with a sneer.

I love the Novamarines so much - and they'd be decent on the table with the solid core of those termies!

Looking forward to seeing the epic DG in all their glory too.



Vigilators for the Sisters hat trick. They just need a Rhino now, then a few more Custodes and the full army is done.

(Not the full Custodes backlog as there's the rest of Combat Patrol and a few other bits and bobs. But you have to maintain a strategic reserve!)
