I am so out of the loop Star Wars wise. It's like trying to keep up with 70 years of Marvel characters at this point.
It's helpful to think of Star Wars as a cracking cartoon and game property that has the occasional live action spinoff.

I have to concur with Jye that the SW cartoons are far superior to their live action stuff. There's just so much more interesting world building going on in there. Tbh, most of what's been good about the live action stuff in recent years has come from the cartoons, with Andor being the notable exception. But aye, you could do a lot worst than sticking on some Clone Wars or Rebels while you paint. There's not really anything there that'll require concentrated viewing, but a lot of it's quite pretty (at least once CW gets established. Early stuff is...early) and the stories are fun, especially once it's established itself long enough to have recurring characters and ongoing story hooks and whatnot.

eh, y'know. Stuff, and things

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

If nothing else, this guy got painted today. Also a different red! My lore is that my World Eaters don't always steal their paint from the same victims.

I don't think they use 'paint'. Their armour started off white.

Yet more colouration variety based on victim justified! I should slip some blue and green in there.

Very angery!

Getting on a roll as I do, I finished up the Thricefold Discord (three demons who hate each other's guts) for Underworlds last night:

They're sort of a proof-of-concept for my spearhead, and I think the scheme works (if they do look a bit like Froot Loops). For the paint-heads out there, I tried something a bit different this time, and used an aggressively-colorful magenta preshade rather than my usual neutral brown or grey:
Image
And I think it worked - the purples and yellows are a lot richer than I usually get (compare the tzeentch weirdos I did a bit ago, which use a lot of the same paints but came out a lot more pastel-toned over a grey preshade):

These guys look great, and i'm really loving the bases. How did you do the browny-tan?
So many games, so little time....

It's just Aggaros Dunes (or, well, the Vallejo contrast-ish paint equivalent, I forget what they call it) over the magenta preshade, with a light drybrush of pale sand.

While doing painting prep for the first of my spearhead, I painted up some Dracosans for epic:

I'm kind of wishing I'd done camo or something, as painting tons of mostly-gray vehicles is a bit dull, but what are you going to do.

Nice tanks!

I half painted another guy but then Space Marine 2 unlocked, and the Giants very helpfully got rid of Yakult in short order so I could have the TV.

It is very much Space Marine 2 and there are *so many Tyranids*. The melta rifle is doing good for me, I'm not so hot duelling elites so saving a big gun for them and chainswording the little gribblies works out well.

Finished up the first couple units for my Slaanesh spearhead this afternoon:

They're not exactly how I'd like them (humidity made my primer go on a little toothier than usual, so I had to fight with the contrasts a bit, especially with the skin tones, and purple is always difficult), but the perfect is the enemy of the finished and all that. That's about 1/3 of the total model count, but the cavalry will take a bit of work. Fingers crossed I can finish them up by games day!
