incidentally, keeping on the Work-In-Progress theme, I have spent the past week sticking together dark eldar. Nothing worth posting just yet, but Ive been putting effort into making em pose in funky ways, especially the wyches. The kabalites are actually not very customisable, as one set of arms matches with one gun (i.e.right arm+gun #33 matches with left arm #33a only. Likewise legs and bums. You cant mix and match.) All the legs are much of a muchness in terms of position (this is JG's one weak point - a tendency towards somewhat static miniatures.) So, the kabalites are, imho, pretty bog standard. Fine enough for what they are, but compared to the sproingy goodness that is the Wyches, theyre a teency bit disappointing.
Incidentally, what do folk think, morally and artistically, of using a colour scheme that someone else made up? Ive been having a bugger of a time coming up with a scheme for my Dark Eldar, and I desperately dont want to do em black. Unfortunately most every other newbie Deldar fanboy is trying to be "original" and not doing em black, too. One almost feels that painting em jet black would be an artistic statement in its own right...
anyway, i found a rilly nice colour scheme for em, but it raises the question: should I? I mean, should I just take it and make it my own, or should I continue to plague my poor ravaged brain and try to squeeze out a drop of inspiration?
what say you?
