White is not as hard as people make it out to be if you do it just as the awesome paint job video suggests you could have models that will look respectable with out it taking a lot of time I did some models like that as I was testing out how to do my 30k era World Eaters.. I find that the hardest thing about White is that the paint is hard to use it tends to get clumpy or leave brush lines... for some reason grey does not. I think that is why the guy from Awesome Paint Job uses a lot of grey... good luck with the army and again. remember there is always more than one way to skin a cat.. you may want to experiment with some models before you start on the commander...

agreed. Try whatever technique you decide on on a basic marine grunt before you go messing with your conversion.

Thanks Admiral, that is a good idea.. Maybe I should get my hands on a small squad before I start painting the commander...

Thanks mate, I'll definitely try to get to Ogaki someday, but when?
May be with short notice but I've got time tomorrow (national holidays) and sometimes on the weekends.
By the way are you coming to the games the 28th?

When is always the big trick..

I have very few days were I can just sit an game what with the kids and such... For a game in Ogaki most sundays after 13:00 is a good time. I have a heap of days off over the Christmas holiday. most of those are all open for gaming. now but as the holidays get closer those days will fill up..

Ok guys,

the main conversion of the man is complete, the shots are not very good, they were taken with my iphone.
The original captain head moulded on the mini was removed with a dremel tool, I chopped of and filed down the horns and skull of a chaos terminator lord, put some green stuff in behind and added an iron halo on top.
Tell me what you think.

not too shabby at all! youve got a very nice fit for the head on the body, and while it doesnt exactly say "Im Mr. Friendly" its clearly not out and out chaos or anything. I must check out this dremel malarky some time soon...

Did you pin the iron halo on, btw - that would be my only concern about the model as it stands - the halo looks a bit fragile.

other than that - very nice indeed!

Thanks mate, :)

no the iron halo is not pinned. In fact the iron halo is a very tiny plastic piece so it did not seem possible to pin it.
I glued it down pretty hard so it wont come off that easy, if it should though, it is not so hard to glue it back on
