And on a painting related note, today I finished off all of my current painting projects. Here they are along with a couple of other recent additions.

A US Sherman.

Some Celts.

Some Married Zulus, 1 large unit and a small unit of skirmishers.

And because I was having sooo much fun with basing I finished off some Unmarried Zulus as well, 16 bases worth.

The decals on the Sherman look great.

As got your point about the rules being intrinsically linked to the game, sure, I totally get it. There are some staples that are fine and, as I said earlier, 40K works fine for games where you are playing without all the fancy stuff.

I remember talking with you about this maybe 4 years ago and you made a really good point about overuse of special rules. Rather than adding new rules with each new codex or character, just allow certain units of characters to open access to certain universal rules from the main book. Made perfect sense to me.

Was fun.

"Ah...Sir, when you said you'd found the perfect spot, we thought you meant for camouflage not for a picnic!"

Those look fantastic Kojibear! I also did some Bolt Action painting today for Nagoyahammer, but I don't have the time or the chops to make my Dad's Army as gorgeous as those.

@ Koji: Nice! lamb chops!

@ Auxryn: Good work on the conversions!

@ Prim: How many more Zulus?

Today I worked on a German BA model, basing my French 75s along with the previous French platoon I finished, and continuing work on my French Panhards.

Zulus? Thousands of them!

I have about 75 more to build and paint, but with the current batch done I have:
4 standard units,
2 large units,
1 small unit,
And 2 commanders ready for Black Powder, more than enough to get started.

For the British I have:
4 standard units
1 small unit
And 1 commander done.
However, their bases need to be done before they are ready for the tabletop. I also have a unit of artillery, some irregular cavalry and two units of irregular infantry to do.

@Koji - Those sheep are going to get a heck of a shock when that howitzer fires! Nice Paras though!

Getting some last minute bitz cobbled together for Naghammer. Nothing too exciting, just rigging up a Ram for the Trukk and a cunning Warbike-mounted Power (Klaw/Choppa) for my Warboss. I'll get some primer on them today, and give them a quick wash, dry-brush and we are good to go!
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

48h away and still in panic mode because my spray gun has been being annoying but at least everything has one coat of paint and hopefully I'll manage three colors on everything by tonight*.

*That's is if I stop breaking stuff that I have to fix, don't have to repaint half the latest batch...

Well guys, I am pleased to say that I finished my 750 Brits/Polish Market Garden Paratroopers to a tabletop :) It was a hard slog at the end, but I made it.

Unfortunately the Tyranids are only 70% done, but to rush is to make mistakes (which I already made  - had to start my HQ from scratch) so best I give myself a well deserved rest and play with them as they are. They can die  or devour  you all painted or not ;)

Looking forward to seeing everyone. Bring the fun, laughs and good times guys. :)
