Looking pretty good so far.
Dark Blue comes a close second to Purple as a good colour scheme for D.elves :D
I think an ice themed army could look good, there are a few out there on CMON and Druchii.net for inspiration.

The Other Dave wrote:The lighting on the backpack is sharp!

Er, sharp as in cool, not merely sharp as in well-defined. Although it is. Well-defined I mean. It's sharp at least in part because it's sharp.

Er.
Yeah. The lighting is keen. I mean "keen" as in "cool", not merely keen as in sharp. Although it is. Keen and sharp and cool.

My current project on the painting table:
A full, 15 man squad of Blood Claws for Ragnar Blackmane's Great Company of the Space Wolves Chapter.

The squad as it currently stands

A marine with the base coat done

2 finished marines (I did these a while back and I am using the same techniques for the rest of the squad.

Looking pretty good there Prim. I look forward to the day when you can finally put down a fully painted Space Puppies army (not) :D

As an aside, the sergeant's head sculpt is awful! He makes a Neanderthal's skull look modern. What's he chewing on that makes his brow ridge so prominent. And with that low flat cranium he was obviously a rocket scientist before he joined the 1001 Space Dalmations.

People dont join the space wolves because they are smart you know.
A large percentage of my wolves are old 2nd ed. metal figures. Some of them are ok and some of the sculpts are a little....special. From that 15 man squad, only 5 are from the new plastic sets.

I'm spending between 30 minutes and 2 hours a night on this squad and it is slow going. The base is shadow grey, with a 1:1 mix of shadow grey and black wash painted into all the gaps and recesses. I then highlight the edges with 1:1 shadow grey and space wolves grey, before a final highlight of space wolves grey. I hope to have this squad done by the end of the month. Then I have a squad of Long Fangs I plan to do next.

at least youre painting chief, at least youre painting. Keep at it - perseverance is the key to putting down a fully painted army.

btw, the backpack de birdie has now got lighting from both lanters on the wings, and is awaiting light from lantern numba 2 on the scrolls. Dems a bitch, lemme tell you. stoopid dlord and his stoopid swirlywirly scrolly things.

Its slow, but eventually I'll have a decent amount of wolves painted and then I can start in on Angels (dark or blood), Eldar (only dark), Guard or any one of the other armies I have lying around. Ganbatte! Fighto!

What! No ape hangers? :)
Seriously though. it looks pretty good. Are you gonna add any more spiky bitz? I do think though that the Beastman heat seems a bit incongruous, but that's just me.
