I haven't been doing much painting over the last week or so. I've been flat out selling stuff on eBay and doing Family stuff.
I did get a nice big package from the Perrys though, chock full of early-war (Crete) and mid-war(El-Alamein) reinforcements for my Maori troops AND a mid-war Free French force (Bir Hakeim). So bring on your Fallschirmjager, Italians and Akrika Korps we'll send the lot of you packing!

Ah, beer....forgot the Festival was on. I may have to engineer an escape.

Hey that would be a pretty great contraption. If I were just so ingenious when I am actually drunk...

Did manage to finish assembling the mechanicus onager for the most part.

@ Lovejoy. Take it easy and go at your own pace me old mucker. PM me if you need. Not that I'm the best Dad in the world for advice but always here to talk hobby stuff if you need to vent.

I've been taking life really slowly. Got offered a new job in a Uni which was a turn up, it's just for the Summer teaching English. So it turns out there is life after Japan for the skills we have developed. That was a boost after everything. Also it feels good to get over that initial fear of 'Well if I went home what would I do?' syndrome.
My main focus has been looking after my folks who are getting on and have been ill.
No painting as yet but I'm working on it. Been enjoying the Wimbledon finals and cringing at the Euro final. Watching some vintage Dr Who with William Hartnell and just genuinely spending most time reading.
The reverse culture shock ladz is something you wouldn't believe even if I tried to explain it. Away for 10 years or more it feels a lot like Flight of the Navigator when he time travels and goes back trying to pick up where he left off, only to find that everyone grew up. Stuff of nightmares really and I've had a few of those since I've been home. :)
Keep on living the dream and enjoy those sunsets! That's what I miss the most so far. Oh and having an array of people to game with on my doorstep who are all ex pats! Good times. Why did I ever moan like I did. We never 'ad it so good.

PS: Last I checked the pound was sitting at 130 yen. https://www.games-workshop.com/en-JP/Pa ... 0136a-flat  :)
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

I haven't been up to an awful lot. I haven't been sleeping well due to the heat/humidity, so when I get home I have no motivation to do anything.
I did reinstall Fallout 3 on my PC last week, but I haven't played it much yet due to the aforementioned lack of motivation.
@Pikey - So how many of your new BA minis use those cheese-mongering, fan made rules? :D

@Prim: The Foreign Legion? All of them. Although, no tanks etc is not exactly cheesy? I'm going to do a mix of FFL and Tahitians.
As for the Kiwis, I'll be using the official rules and paying for them. The extra point to field them as Maori might not seem much but for the standard 3 sections I field that's 30pts I don't have to spend elsewhere.
I had to force myself not to buy an Afrika Korps/Mediterranean focused German army to oppose them. Hmmm, maybe later in the year. Hopefully, the Brexit fallout continues.

Today, it is a good day. Nay, a glorious day. For today, I finished my Total Warhammer campaign. To whit:

101 hours. One-hundred-and-one-firricken-hours.

aaaaaaaand done.

I'm going to paint something, now. And not look at any screens for a very, very long time*.

*phone screens dont count. :?

ps - in the above map, dark grey is my lovely, swimming-in-bones VC territory. Everything else is stinky and Vampires wont live there (i.e. either Norsca or a dwarf/orc mountain fastness/badlands hovel), so I razed em to the ground.

@spev - nice chaos types. I especially like the "heavily armoured everywhere except where it might actually kill me" guy. Kinda like boob-plate for men :D

@jr - nice tellos! The veining works pretty well. iirc he had transparent skin? or was that some other soul drinky chap? Also, i hate to quibble, but did tellos have a khornate icon on him? I read the books a while back, and I vaguely remember a bunch of em going all BftBG but was it Tellos or someone else...

@JR- horrible, just horrible paint job on that guy. Perfectly, hideously, grotesquely, horrible, keep up the good work!
