Never seen colors like that on Nurgle before. Brave choices and I do like it. It's all bruised gristle and cold steel. The weird blue (vapors?) are nice and really the only color that would work imo.The Other Dave wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 12:28 pmFinished up my Lord of Contagion tonight, meaning I'm all set with my full order of battle (well, I'm 4 poxwalkers short, but not actually planning to field a 20-strong squad right off the bat) for Sunday, knock on wood.
I also knocked out a couple pieces of MDF terrain.

Re: What did you do today.
Thanks! The gray and red on the armor are from the "historical" Legion scheme I'm using, but the pink fleshy bits are a choice I made when doing my first poxwalkers that I've just sort of been running with. Trying to do Nurgle with nary a spot of green is basically me digging my heels in and being pure contrarian, but it seems to be working!

Re: What did you do today.
Here's that terrain I did up too:

A fun little piece from TTCombat, the last major bit* from the bundle I got in their Christmas sale. (Also some boring stuff like modular stairs and railings and such.)
*There is actually one more piece, a *huge* building I got as part of the bundle - it pretty much fills up one of the Kill Team boards, plus it'll be a pain to transport, so I'm debating even keeping it, let alone painting it. (The bundle was enough of a deal that I could bin it and still have gotten more than my money's worth on the whole thing, but my frugal Midwestern nature makes me balk at that.)

Re: What did you do today.
Did someone say terrain? or train? Well I've got both.

Behold my "modular" area terrain for 9th. The crates and base are obviously separate pieces but other than that base and top part of the crane are still two separate pieces which allows the crane to rotate. Its stable enough as long as you don't bump into it but some poster putty usually does the trick during games. I'm tempted to make more railway pieces but empty tracks aren't really very good terrain so as fun as that sounds I'm going to resist. Anyway using the new area rules in 9th, the entire base of this piece should block LoS when shooting past it.
@Dave If you have a building thats too big and cumbersome, consider breaking it into smaller pieces and turning it into ruins. The vat/processing plant looks pretty good though and it'll fit in great with some industrial terrain.

Re: What did you do today.
It's a thought, although it's rather solidly built, has no internal detailing, and (maybe most importantly) working with MDF can be a pain - the dust is not to be messed with.
Still and all, it's a nice set altogether, and has painted up very well.

Re: What did you do today.
A bit more Dave Spam. Just for fun between plague marines, I painted up a Primaris marine I had kicking around in the Dusk Raider scheme.

Meet Brother-Sergrant Kreshnik of the Twilight Guardians*, an Ultima founding Primaris chapter of 'uncertain'** geneseed provenance.
*See what I did there?
**Meaning Cawl used Death Guard geneseed and "lost" the records.
I don't think I'd care to do a whole lot of them, but it's nice to see the color scheme works on regular marines too. It was nice that I could basically recreate the Dusk Raider legion marking with decals I had on hand though.

Re: What did you do today.
Nice terrain guys! That crane especially looks really cool. I'd love to get some done eventually as well. Only problem is that I don't drive and transporting it on the train can be difficult. I might look into some smaller or more easily transportable stuff though.
Today I finally got around to starting my astropaths. Only one so far, but hopefully I can get the other two done by Sunday.

Re: What did you do today.
Terrain, Dusk Raiders and our psyker friend are looking great.

That's not even all of it, just what I could get painted this week!
(I might have painted some more if I wasn't distracted assembling a few new friends...)
Yeah, I have a bunch of 5" tall Sector Imperialis stuff, not to mention the Bastion of Faith, and it's not really made with two trains and walking in mind. That's why I finally snapped and invested in all those Munitorum Armoured Containers, as well as finally picking up the most convenient set of ruins they make:Mattb wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 8:05 amNice terrain guys! Are those the new marines?
How did you get them early?

Re: What did you do today.
It is 2:30 in the morning and I just finished putting together my patrol. 4.5 hours for only 17 miniatures.
