Blitz Bowl? That is new, and a surprise. Is this a replacement for or a gateway to Bloodbowl?

One of these days I am going to build a BB team......I swear......

Speaking of gateways, I downloaded the free, mini version of ZBrush Core and managed to sketch this in a few hours of experimenting. Pretty fun. The mini version is really a toy, but perfect for the complete and total beginner with a passing interest. (me) I did this in a couple hours of bumbling around.
I call him "The Malnourished Man". I should put a bit more meat on him.

Other than that, summer has totally melted my brain and ambition. I did nothing but sweat, nap, watch horror movies and beg for death's sweet release. Now that it has cooled off a bit, I feel a bit more like getting back to work. I binge-watched "The Mandalorian" (delightfully stupid as only Star Wars can be) and sketched up some alien "wretched scum and villany". Might start working on armatures for sculpting. That, or might do something for Strange Aeons. Halloween is only 51 days away after all.
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

Kind of neither, or both. Best to think of it as a similar-but-not-the-same game in the same setting. It uses half-size teams and a smaller board than blood bowl, plays much quicker, and has a streamlined, more-forgiving ruleset (in particular, it doesn't have the turnover rule), but is apparently good fun and tactically interesting.

Test model for expansion to the Scythes along with original.

🤔 I may need my opponents to stand an extra metre or so from the table to preserve the illusion.

@Jye - Contrast and non-Contrast paints give a very different look to the finished model when placed side-by-side like that. I think you'll have a hard time matching ToD's original Scythes without switching to more traditional painting methods, so you'll have to decide how much time and effort you want to dedicate to the new Scythes. The base looks nicer on your mini though.

@Konrad - I'm sure you'll sculpt up some awesome wretched scum.

Sadly if we look at the investment of time it would take to even see Dave's level on the horizon skill wise, I'd be better off churning through the massive backlog at Constrast turbo speeds so I'm afraid the interlopers will have to remain obvious

I am going to work on rebasing the existing Scythes though.

I managed to finish off a mini today. :D

From Wargames Foundry (I believe), this figure is supposed to represent William the Conqueror at the Battle of Hastings. Famously, during the battle, a rumour spread through the Norman army that William was dead and he was forced to ride around his troops showing them that he was still alive and kicking. Sadly the sculpt isn't all that great, lacking much real detail beyond lots of chain mail and a dodgy-looking face. To make things worse, the mace is miscast and attached to the head and shoulders of the figure when it should be further off to the right. The mini isn't glued down to the horse, so at some point I will have to dig out and paint up a better looking rider.

Which yellow are you using there?

I did these guys

with Iyanden Yellow and while it's not a perfect match for the yellow on my scythes it might be a bit less orange-y than what you have. If you're using Iyanden I don't know what to tell you.

Yeah, those guys were what gave me confidence to just slap the Iyanden Yellow on - though maybe I just slapped too much? I also used Wraithbone, did you use Greyseer or something else?

Not too worried in any case, ultimately as long as you can tell they're not Space Wolves or Sisters of Battle it'll be good enough to avoid confusion when souping

Grey Seer but with a heavy enough white drybrush as part of the preshading that it's essentially white, and yeah, pretty thin coats - Iyanden does go orange in thick coats.

...Maybe I *should* take to Hide-san again about a Contrast workshop day.
