What did you do today.

@Primarch: I hadn't thought to go over the sand again to seal it. Having tried it today, it's definitely needed (or else the sand is course and rough and it gets everywhere). I already have some sand I bought when I got into the hobby, so I'm trying that first before the pumice.

@Dave: I've seen some really detailed basing online with various pastes, but yeah, that's more work than I really want to do. Gotta keep it simple!

I based 10 troopers tonight. Overall, looks pretty good I think!
For the scorched grass, I think a gentle sprinkling (front center) looks better than clumps (front row 2nd from left), so I'll have to adjust next time.
Actually, I think I might change out the grass for small rocks or something. The red seems a little too chaos-y.

I finished the bases for the rest of my painted troops.
Next, I think I'll work on my platoon commanders and heavy weapons teams.

@Primarch: I had quite a backlog! I think basing is not the most exciting task, but it really had to be done. The difference from before is night and day.

Today I painted up a pair of platoon commanders. I decided my officers should have a different color scheme to make them easier to pick out on the table, so these girls are red/black.
I have 6 heavy weapon teams I'd like to work on next, so that will be this week's task. Then maybe some other officers, or veterans?

More of the Emperor's Finest with new circles under their feet. Given how kind the new Codex was to apothecaries - *especially* the flufftastic and very good Recover Gene-Seed agenda - I'm super glad Dave decided to convert up that Apothecary there.

The Aggressors ate a severe nerf and didn't even get the courtesy of a price drop but they're still not bad, especially in Imperial Fists. So they can come out to play on Sunday.

The LT is mostly getting by on me simply not being able to afford to take Lord Mirhen in the list and have enough bodies to screen the Apothecary.

Lovely stuff all! I've been chugging away at my undead team for Blitz Bowl - nothing much to report yet, but they should at least be ready for a game on Sunday. Most of my hobby time has been taken up with solo dungeon crawling (plus lots of working weekends and going-to-students'-weddings weekends) so I haven't been getting too much painting done lately.

Another quick Contrast job, but they turned out well! I probably won't get the orcs or humans done by Sunday, but I'll have two teams (these plus the goblins, plus a very old human team for good measure) on hand anyway.

I couldn't spray undercoat 3 Spear Ashigaru in my Autumn Japanese garden and not share with Nagoyahammer now could I. Hope you are all well and keeping busy. No I've not bought a new army. These 3 were free with Wargames Illustrated this month.
