I'm furiously thinking of ways to field two warlords, yes.Jye Nicolson wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 1:10 amThat looks amazing, Dave!

Love it! Great sculpt, great paint job. I like the mysterious purple orbs on the base too.

Imagine if it was 28mm scale :OThe Other Dave wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 2:13 pmWarlord #2 is done (and damnably hard to photograph):
The trouble with having a go at a second expensive centerpiece model is realizing all the things you could have improved on the first one.Of all things, I'm especially pleased with how the base came out.
These last few days I managed to finish a Witch Elf, some bases and two GSC atalan bikers that will be used in my IG.

Easy! "What if it cost as much as a car and was impossible to store, transport, or use in 99.99% of games?"

Re: What did you do today.

The advance guard of quite a lot of Wolves; there's another 15 models painted but not based and another 12 getting primed this week.
The Bladeguard got hit with some dodgy priming (probably holding the can too close for an ill advised last minute touch up) and look like they've been cutting up acid filled Tyranids but they still count as painted
Re: What did you do today.
Maybe you could make a set of front/back/sides/top color prints on one of those large size printers, glue them to a refrigerator box and just fold it up when not in use.The Other Dave wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 11:20 amEasy! Re: What did you do today.
You'd better watch out, you'd better not cry,
you'd better not pout, I'm telling you why...

I am aware the joke of referring to Logan Grimnar on his sleigh as Santa is profoundly undercut by headswapping him and losing that epic beard. I came very close to not doing it - the Crusade's backstory is that the Daughters are a Great Company, not that all Space Wolves are women, so Grimnar's still Grimnar even in my dumb fiction. But ultimately I thought it was funnier if one of them "borrowed" his stuff to go smite Necrons.

And rounding out this batch are *most* of my remaining Phobos. I never once deliberately bought Infiltrators or Incursors but ended up with a total of 40 of them due to pack ins to get Ragnar, Suppressors, Eliminators etc. Now Phobos are the favoured Matched Play troops so I guess I'm glad I had them?
There's a bunch more to go thanks to the Codex and supplement changes (we're on our fourth or fifth set of Space Wolves rules this year depending on how you count), but they'll have to wait till I get out to Plamojuku to prime them.

Re: What did you do today.
Nice shading on those marines, Jye.
I've been playing some Stellaris and a heavily modded run of Skyrim lately. Good times.
I played some more 40k this weekend at the Tokyo group: here are some battle reports!
On a related note, I'd kind of like if there were a forum or subforum to post battle reports of games in. I used to put them in the various Events threads, but I'm off on my own now.
I'm starting to get back into the mood for painting, so I'm trying to decide what models to work on next. I think I want to run a swarm infantry list against this Custodes player that always kicks my butt, so I'll probably work on basic infantry (which works for the gauntlet too!)

You can't spell slaughter without laughter.
