This Rhino has been sitting on my desk half painted and mocking me for some time. Today though it got just enough paint on it to cross the magical threshold where I finally believed it would be finished, and pushed through to hide the primer.

Was more blue and grey a better choice that the yellow I used last time? Probably not in general but given the yellow in question and the way I use it, probably in a local sense.

@Jye - nice, loving the old school dreadnought look!

@Jus - those traitor guard look excellent. Love the way you've done that black armour.

Also it's been a while since I posted, so here's a pic of my nob.

@Matt - that's a sharp looking Ork, I reckon that axe will cleave a fair few of my Primaris!

@Balloonacorn - great looking kitbash, you're on your way to an impressive Crusade force.

Did the Terminator quickly as another stab at fitting in with the Scythes and Dave's superior level of craft 😅. The hope is rather than matching the black and yellow (which is tough with Contrast), pass off another dominant colour with touches of the original scheme as an in-chapter variant ala Deathwing etc.

@Mattdb: Stoned the flamin' crows with that one mate! Crikey! Incidentally. Which paint did you use for that smooth smooth metallic finish? It's hard for me to get such a smooth finish with my metallics but that probrably because I'm using paints from 2006

@balloonacorn : Love the wings! they fit way better than the sang guard wings. I really like that idea.

@jye - wow you are on a roll sir. The red one is looking really good, and of course scenic bases are just a touch of class. Do you use contrast medium by the by? I find it really helps with smoothing out the contrast paints.

Blackstone looking good!

@Jye, I like how the scheme looks - going with a color that Contrast does better helps a lot, too.

I got my MDF proxy rhino in this week (from Miniature Scenery), and bashed it out:

The earth effects product I tried out didn't work so good, but live and learn! The important thing is that my melee plague marine squad now has a ride.

Hahah, thanks but I can't even take credit for selecting the base - pretty sure that guy was one of the Space Marine Heroes series, and Karantu was the one who assembled him!

Nope, I never do anything other than use the paint straight out of the bottle  I'll keep that in mind for future attempts though.

Looking great! Painting and gluing them is definitely the smart move, I kicked myself every time I drew them in game and realised I still hadn't gotten around to gluing the two relying on one spindly little peg each with no grip on the base.
