Fantasy Battle and Unit fillers.

So, the other day I was at badruk's Admiralty house for an awesome battle for the pass where Badruk introduced the idea of the unit filler in fantasy battle to me.
The idea is to replace a certain number of infantry models in a regiments with terrain pieces and/or assorted conversions on joining bases. This is then used to bulk out the unit with more bases creating larger units (not a bad idea in 8th ed.) and also allows you to be creative and make stunning filler models to break up the monotony of rank upon rank of often identical looking models.
At first I was a bit skeptical of the idea, but after thinking about it some more, I LOVE it. You can do some really cool things with rank filler and on top of that, you can effectively expand your army without giving GW any more of your money wahahaha (Hey spevna, High five!)
However in has been known on the the internet that certain enterprising cheap skates will abusive the heck out of unit filler so there should be some sensible things to keep in mind when dabbling with such.
cardinal rules for use of unit fillers:
1. I wouldn't use more than 25% of the regiment as unit filler. There should still be a sense that the regiment is still a rank and file unit...with ranks and files.
2. If you are going to use unit fillers, they should look fecking spectacular, a tree and some rocks won't cut it.
3. Bases should not hinder the removal of casulties to much as the game progress, as jutting large base unit fillers can be a pain for that.
What do you think of unit fillers and will you be inclined to create some for use in our games?
