http://awesomepaintjob.com/Videos.html

some very helpful video tutorials here. All done simply, no fancy stuff. As the voice over says - all you guys watching this should be able to do this.

I havent watched em all, but the majority seem to be basic marine painting stuff (applicable to all minis, obviously) with a bit of airbrushing to get major coverage bits done. The technique on the space wolf's sword (top right vid) made me laugh cos it pees all over the huuuuuuuge number of hours you'd normally have to spend to get the sword NMMd like that. 5 minute NMM - ha!

Awesome stuff if you have an airbrush.
I am watching the White Scars tutorial with great interest, and I intend to pick up some oils for the wet blending technique he shows off on the Thunder Hammer.

edit
Hmm, no secret techniques to painting white beyond "lots of thin coats"
Oh well.

This is a very helpful tutorial on blending and NMM, and its easy to follow too. Less easy to actually do, but easy enough to follow...

This is an interesting product, but Im keen to try it. It would also be extremely useful for folks who wanted to clone, say, wolf skulls...

That would be great for making tank tracks and armour plates with. That is going right on my list of stuff to buy.

you fancy putting in an order together, or shall we just get our own? CMON shipping is fairly reasonable. Im not sure how much we'd save by clubbing together. A bit, probly, but how much exactly, I dunno.

I'm no hurry for it mate. I will get it, just no idea when. If you are keen for it, and want it sooner rather than later, go ahead. Cheers for the nod though :D

Well, you could buy it from CMoN for thirteen bucks for half a dozen sticks, or you could get it from here for half that. In fact, it appears to be a Japanese product, so ordering it from the US seems rather perverse. :)

Oyumaru seems to be the Japanese name for it, and these people seem to make it.

(Thanks to the people on TMP and Frothers (warning! naughty words! ) whose information I've just reposted in an effort to look all wise and knowledgeable :) )

well, gosh. That was possibly the most helpful post Ive seen in ages. Its all well and good Andy telling us about stuff goin' on in the UK, but when he's bringing us up to date on our own backyard its just embarrasing...

*edit* I bought some from here:

http://item.rakuten.co.jp/bungukimuraya/1434522/

I got a coupla packs, as shipping is 500yen while the stuff is 450yen for 10 sticks. So, expect to see lots of little cloned bitz from me in the near future...
