Nice work, Prim! I wouldn't say that's 70 unfinished projects, that's 70 projects with an active strategic reserve.
My painting has suffered from work ratcheting up several degrees of intensity (usually that helps but it's been an unusually wild time).
Assembly has been going great though. I glued my way through a full Soulblight army (maybe several with the way the points are right now), all the generic Endless Spells, almost through the Gloomspite army, Skaven Gnawholes and some random Clanrats. Just about down to some Orks, a Swarmlord and the reserve Terminators. None of that is particularly photogenic without paint though.
Reviews of the 40k Boarding Action rules for 10th got me to take the plunge on that too, but with the backlog the way it is I opted to order prepainted 3rd party terrain from Spain rather than queue up the official stuff. Bandua does free shipping everywhere, surprisingly, let's see how long the grade of shipping to Japan they're happy to pay for actually takes to arrive

Today I got the painting finished on my British infantry company. Hopefully I can get most of the basing done tomorrow.

Well, the glue is drying on the bases of my Brits, so while I was waiting for that, I did the base coats on some WW2 Japanese and assembled a few medieval looking minis. Fingers crossed I'll have some pictures to post up tomorrow.

So I finally got around to picking up some AoS stuff. However I decided I wasn`t going to spend a long time painting them so I`m not bothering with the standard base+layer+edge highlight that I normally like to do. They don`t look that good, but I was able to finish all 10 in only two days, which is pretty much a new record for me.

Looks good to me, nice work Matt!
Re: What did you do today.
Honestly, the models look fine. If I had to pick out a way to improve them, it would be the bases. A quick dry brush in a lighter shade, and a couple of different coloured tufts will make them look a lot better.Mattb wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 2:08 pmSo I finally got around to picking up some AoS stuff. And after talking about them for several days, here are my finished British infantry.
These figures are painted as the 3rd Regiment, 'The Buffs' who served with the No.1 Column during the British invasion of the Zulu Kingdom in 1879.
And just because the model didn't need much to finish it off, a ship's doctor for any pirate-y rpgs/skirmish games I happen to play in the future.

Yeah, the bases are awful. I was using GWs Stirland Mud texture paint and I don`t think I was using it properly. I went back and added a lot more to actually give it some texture and gave it a quick drybrush. It doesn`t look good, but it`s better than before! Now that I know what I`m doing, my noble paladin ended up looking better.

The very epitome of chivalry itself!
The basing looks much better, well done.
As for myself, I forgot to post last night.
Yesterday, I worked on some WW2 Japanese and a piece of MDF terrain. Nothing to show off yet, but I'm making progress.
