Awesome! Hope you're enjoying Kyushu generally too, it's a nice place to be!
My copy of the first Darkest Dungeon expansion arrived, so I'm back on that, with the first of the mosquito-themed vampires it features:
With any luck I'll get the set finished up by the end of the month and we can do a quest in there before moving on to endgame.

Re: What did you do today.
Not hobby related but in Fukuoka today and followed @The Other Dave's recommendation for a yakitori place named Hige Shogun (ひげ将軍) and it was fantastic. Simple, straightforward but absolutely delicious.
If instead you crave hipster energy my personal recommendation is ramen at Gen-ei, where the setting is like a mini lecture theatre and the balance of the ingredients is perfect. It's not typical Hakata Tonkotsu but it's a winner.
White Glass is your breakfast choice; exceedingly good coffee and actual delicious food in the early hours.

As those of you who follow this thread regularly may know, my winter challenge has been finished for a while now and my output has noticeably declined. However, over the 3 months of the challenge, I managed to paint up 449 minis and scenic elements. A personal best.

Very impressive! Good work!
Last night I finished up for Darkest Dungeon the gluttonous Viscount and the weirdly (but necessarily) color-coded Bodies on which he feeds:
(Haven't dotted the gloss onto his eyes yet.)

@ToD - Okay, that is pretty weird even by the standards of what you've already done for this game.

First miniature painted of the year
Also first foray into NMM. I'm moderately happy with how it came out. My advice to anyone trying it out is, it will look like trash the first 95% of the process Just see it through to the end.

Love the cool grey/brown palette you are using there. And that is a nice bit of subdued NMM. Looks quite realistic, not the usual rainbow/magic mirror surface you often see in more dramatic pieces.Grantholomeu wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 12:13 amFirst miniature painted of the year

Re: What did you do today.
I thought about glazing on some green on the bottom of the sword to capture some of the grass reflecting on it and add a little color but didn't want to mess it up. Still thinking about it honestly...

Re: What did you do today.
You are reading my mind. I was thinking the exact same thing should you want to try and level up a bit. It would be really subtle though given the subdued palette and naturalistic rendering.Grantholomeu wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 1:44 amI thought about glazing on some green on the bottom of the sword to capture some of the grass reflecting on it and add a little color but didn't want to mess it up.
