All aboard the Heresy train, choo-choo, &c.

I went with vanilla Death Guard just for fun in the end. Many thanks to jus for printing these up for me! (I should have another request lined up shortly.)

This is mostly just an excuse to flex my microarmor muscles after a bit of a break, but if anyone is interested in a little Epic 30K escalation league or something, I'll remind you all that the Epic Armageddon rules are some of the best GW has ever made (in my opinion), free STLs of marines are pretty dang easy to find, and failing that, slightly-smaller plastic epic marines from previous editions are all over the place on eBay.
Feel free to call me Dave!

Right game, wrong vintage (in my opinion), but EA isn't bad. I still have some of the 1st ed Space Marine minis and an old school Warlord. I know the titan is terribly out of scale, but what is the difference between the infantry like?

#edit# - Are those custom size bases?

Not too bad, really - there was a bit of scale creep in Epic and later plastic infantry releases are actually pretty close to 8mm. As you'd expect, it's infantry : tanks : titans :: you probably won't notice unless they're sharing a base : hmm, these look kind of small : holy smokes.

So yeah, obviously a different scale when you put them side by side, but on the table you probably won't really notice.

These are 40mm x 20mm - EA allows any bases as long as their longest dimension is no shorter than 20mm and no longer than 40mm. Lots of people in the "3D printing Epic 30K" crowd are going for 30mm rounds, but I happened to have a bunch of these lying around from my Warmaster-curious days.

Love the little Death Guard!

Poxwalkers! Only 20 more to go 😭

I did my first batch of 10 with more subdued colours but since I'll want to be able to quickly sort them into squads each subsequent batch of 10 is going to get something bright and distinguishing.

It's the other purple guys with Slaaneshi entanglements!

These are the ones I bought the Luxion Purple for in the first place. They're also sporting some Leviathan Purple but it's darker than I expected.

That Lucius in particular is tempting me to start a Loyalist Emperor's Children force just to squish him though. #TeamTarvitz

Test model
The steel effect on the shoulder pads is interesting and really stands out from the rest of the model. The steel has like a hammered texture and sort of a oily look. So I'm guessing just GW whateversilver and Nuln Oil?

And the purple is perfect! Matches my Skeletor hood. Oh! Oh! Skeletor Marines!
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

I finished off my first Novamarines model. Well, it's not exactly finished. I still need to get some transfers for it, as I don't think I can freehand the insignia.
